Speaking of Henry putting a team on his back I remember Mark doing the same thing against South Carolina in the wildcat when everyone knew he was going to tote the rock. Love em both but I'll take Mark over Henry. Henry was better on the edge once he got rolling. Hell I'd take Drake straight up the gut over Henry. Yeldon and Henry seemed to tip toe to the line to me. Now my boy Drake hit the line like a firecracker was up his arse (just hold on to the ball)

Anyone have a comparison to Xavier Williams that signed? Staff was extremely high on him from what I gather.

ETA: We need to be hitting Mississippi harder in recruiting especially now and get a foothold there. The state of Alabama was proof of that this year.

Has anyone heard any rumors on coaches moving in and out after the bowls?

Ingram in college reminded me of E Smith in the pros. Nothing really flashy but you could count on every game production from him that was very consistent that allowed us to control the clock and and be able to get guys like Julio open. Henry was just a work horse almost like E Dickerson was in the pros. The problem though it seemed we had no other options except Henry and live or died based on his performance. To me very different backs in what they brought to the table.

I ran some numbers since we have a few concerned about UGA and losing head to head battles with them especially with their instate guys. GA has never really been a great recruiting state for UA to be honest. Since 2008 we only landed 21(counting this year) 4 star recruits and not 1 5 star. Using 247 composite rankings. Only 12 of those 21 were ranked in the top 15 of GA during any of those years.

Here is the list of players that were 4 star over the last 11 years from GA we signed.

Devonta Bolton
Chris Jackson
Michael Bowman
Adrian Hubbard
Brian Vogler
Blake Sims
Xzavier Dickson
LaMichael Fanning
Geno Smith
Dillon Lee
Kenyan Drake
Brandon Greene
Dalvin Tomlinson
Alvin Kamara
Tyler Jones
Johnny Dwight
Mekhi Brown
Adonis Thomas
Dallas Warmack
Xavier McKinney
Quay Walker

To be honest not a great list that is so heavy in talent but just next door.

AU does far better in GA then we do. Since 2008 AU has signed 34 4 star and 3 5 star from the state of GA. Out of the 21 4 star recruits we signed from GA only 12 were in the top 15 in any year. So in 11 years we have averaged basically 1 top 15 recruit out of GA annually. AU has gotten 17 out of the top 15 in that same time span. Now the advantage for us with Kirby there now is that AU got only 6 4 star players in 2017 and 2018 so far and not one of them a top 15 recruit. Kirby putting up the wall hurts AU far more then UA which is a when for us.

One other stat Kirby last year kept close to 70% of the top 15 talent in GA home as well as 75% of all their 4 and 5 stars were from GA. He will be on track again this year to do the same and AU along with other programs like CU & UT will be hurt more by this then UA.

Exactly and hope he continues to dominate instate as pointed out it hurts our rival far more then us.

If Karl Dunbar leaves, Brick Haley or Bo Davis might be top replacement candidates. Jmo.

He could have been that athletic TE Bama was without for seemingly the longest time, if not another great at LB.

I really wanted to see Destin Hood play football from that class, but he just preferred baseball...

Thought Devonta could have been another Hightower. Alas he will remain a High School legend.

I wish we could get some assistants to stay a while. This turnover crap sucks.

The only way to keep assistants to stick around is they would have to do a bad job for us. Not sure I want that.

We need them to do a good job and stay for a while ala Kirby.

Yeah. I think we'll probably keep all our on field staff except maybe Dunbar. I think Saban will promote Tosh to DC title & pay. Pete Golding is a great hire. Brick Haley might be as well. Both likely to stay for a while too.
