At this point, besides Cox, is there anyone left that Alabama and Georgia are going head to head on? Any thoughts from the Bama camp of late on Cox? I know that a little while back TideSaint had mentioned there was a BOL poster who still felt good about Cox to Bama, but most UGA insiders seem to think we land him.

Kind of weird to have so few recruits that we are going up against each other for. Also... color me freaking puzzled at JJ Peterson's most recent "leader". I have to think you guys still land him unless you explicitly told him you don't want him... but stranger things I guess.

Bone tweeted something about "big news" regarding Sewell on Wednesday.

He must have the inside scoop on underwear choice.

The recent signs and chatter have been heavily toward Cox to UGA. However, this surprising Rivals article today has Cox saying he's undecided between UGA and Bama.

After Saban and key staff do more relationship building with JJ from now to NSD, I think he'll feel comfortable again and Bama will land him.

I really don't understand the angst for any of the alabama recruiting or beat writers. If they don't give info they know nothing or are hedging, if they give you inside info that upsets some of you as well

He said he exchanged texts with Sewell's father today and that Sewell is probably going to wait until February to make his decision.

He pissed Najee off the night he committed. I thought it was going to run him off.

I bet Sewell's dad is not pleased with Bone's attempts to constantly scoop and ruin a kid's moment. That was prolly the exchange.

I mean, if the dad doesn't want his son's moment ruined, he could not talk to reporters about it.

Recruiting question of the day: Answering all of your Emory Jones and QB inquiries | SEC Country
quote:

Obviously, the biggest question of the day focuses on what exactly happened between Alabama and 4-star Ohio State quarterback commit Emory Jones, who is the team’s top target at the position.

It has seemed for months now that Jones was Alabama’s likeliest option at quarterback in the 2018 class. He’s visited Tuscaloosa numerous times and has told several players and commits that he was likely going to end up flipping to the Tide. That doesn’t seem likely anymore.

Jones took official visits to Florida and Florida State this past weekend. The Gators should be considered the favorites to land Jones when he signs at 11:30 a.m. ET Wednesday.

Here is what I reported on Monday morning.

To answer the first question from @kbonay, Alabama did not say “no thanks” to Emory Jones. The Tide wanted him in this class. There was one point where 4-star quarterback Jarren Williams, who recently committed to Miami, looked like he was going to commit to Alabama. The Tide wanted Jones instead.

The second question, from @geauxcrimson: Will Alabama decide to take a quarterback in this class if it misses on Jones? That answer is yes. The team currently has three scholarship quarterbacks, and it’s always a possibility that one of them decides to transfer at some point in their career.

Nick Saban has also signed at least one quarterback every year he’s been at Alabama.

With Jones looking like he’s headed elsewhere, James Foster, a 4-star prospect from Sidney Lanier High School (Montgomery, Ala.), is going to be the team’s top target.  Here is what I reported on Foster last Friday.

To be honest with you, I think both Jones and Foster are project quarterbacks. I think it’s going to take some time for both to develop.

In regard to Bear Bryant’s lineage being a lock to Alabama, for those who don’t know, he is talking about Class of 2019 4-star quarterback Paul Tyson. Tyson is the great-grandson of Bear Bryant. He’s not ranked highly because of his name, either. Tyson is a legit quarterback prospect. He completed more than 70 percent of his passes and threw for 3,392 yards, 36 touchdowns and just 4 interceptions this season at Hewitt-Trussville, which is in the highest high school classification in Alabama.

Considering his family history, it’s hard to imagine him going anywhere other than Alabama. I know Tyson wants to take some visits elsewhere, but he’s likely going to end up with the Tide. There’s another elite quarterback in the state in the 2019 class in Taulia Tagovailoa, a 4-star prospect in his own right and the little brother of Tua. Both Tyson and Tagovailoa love the Crimson Tide. I think both of them will end up at Alabama.

The problem is guys like Bone basically stalk these guys for info. It seems most of them get their info from boards like this or when someone actually claims to have a legit source they run with it as their own. I have learned the majority of them have very few sources and stalk recruits on twitter, facebook, and even befriending their friends to get info. The famous line by Bone and many others goes someone close to the said recruit said, which means some kid that is in class with said recruit and has no clue but wants attention has become friends with Bone and willing to give him false info and he runs with it.

Sort of like the so called talent experts that rates these kids on these sites. If they are so truly so good at rating talent my guess is they would be on some coaching staff somewhere not sitting behind a computer giving their opinion on some film they have watched.

These kids, their families, their friends, their HS coaches, and anyone that may know him(drive thru worker at McDonalds) get harassed by these recruiting sites for info. I have seen it first hand and it is worse then paparazzi.

Just for fun who would be top 5 recruits we definitely get. Has to be someone where there’s interest. 1) DE - Anoma. 2) DE - Cox. 3) IT Stuart / but I’d take T Campbell either one. 4) WR J Waddle.5) Flip B Brown . I didn’t put a QB because not much to pick from , take walk on. Didn’t put a O L because were stacked. But we will probably get Sewell!!! Who y’all got?

OK. He could still say 'no comment' and hang up the phone. That's a quicker way to lose them than giving them info.
