I think there has also been a little jealousy on this site because most of the Megathread groupie babes tend to flock to me, sending me private messages trying to woo me.
I can tell the jealousy coming out in the posts here. The Megathread groupies know a handsome beefcake stallion through the posting styles.

As silly and faux insider-ish as it sounds to be coy and not say, that's what I'm going to do this time.
There has to be a reason why they're asking it to STILL be kept under wraps, and why Rodney Orr and BOL/Scout guys are sitting on it and not mentioning it.
So I'm going to do that. It'll likely all come out soon enough anyway. And it might/probably won't even matter any. But as silly as it seems to even me, I'm going to respect their apparent wishes and keep it quiet for a little longer.

Im going to say a kid from UGA. A kid from fla wouldn't care about visiting. Just thinking with the claw UGA has it would be a lot of pressure to stay.

Of course, Aronian has had a really nice 2017, but his opening repertoire is a bit narrow. Doesn't mean he can't win the Candidates, but only playing 1.d4 and 1.c4 and not playing 1.e4 could be tough sledding against Carlsen. I also like the fact that Caruana has done relatively decently against Carlsen compared to Aronian.
Now, Kramnik might still have a little left in the tank. Would certainly be a difficult match opponent if he could find a way to win the tournament.
I'm disappointed Naka and MVL aren't going to be in the tournament.

Not sure but anything can be better than the Karjakin snooze fest we got last year. I prefer the blitz tournaments. GMs are just way too booked up with all the computer lines these days to make for interesting standard time control chess.
I was watching a blitz tournament the other day on Lichess and no body knew at the time that "Dannythedonkey" account name was really Magnus Carlsen. "bombergranate" also ended up being Caruana. Pretty cool for everyone involved to later find out they were playing with one of the greatest GMs in history.

Ha. That's pretty neat. I actually know the guy who is the COO on chess.com (I'm a chess instructor, and he came to help run a camp this past Summer), IM Danny Rensch. He was telling me about some of the elite GMs and how they are to deal with "in person". I've met Nakamura. That's the only top GM I've met. I've played 6 GM's (I believe) over the board. Won 1, lost 5. But a decent score against IMs and FMs.
