He'll just be a position coach. With his connections, I believe it's a pretty good hire. Seems highly thought of.

That's my thing. I don't see the differnce between Jones and Foster honestly. Id take the instate kid. Who we wont have to worry about transferring when he has to sit three yeard.

A guy that I know that has lots of coaching ties at Foster's school and that area in general has never been more adamant that we should NOT want him on our team. Not so much his football prowess, but in other areas. Since it's a public message board, I shouldn't mention much more, but he has me convinced that he wouldn't be a good fit.

We also offered a 3* QB a preferred walk-on spot Brock Purdy Hudl

I know level of competition has something to do with it, but I like his highlights more than Jones and Foster.

Coincidentally, Golding's DL Coach at UTSA is...Bo Davis

Bo is eligible to recruit off campus starting this March I believe.

Why not go ahead and bring him back at seasons end ? With his misstep no other school will come along looking to make him a head coach after two seasons. Imagine that we could keep one of our best recruiters who happens to be a bad arse dline coach for years.

IMO with all these ace recruiters around the sec now Bama really needs to bring Davis back onboard ASAP.

April 13th 2019 is when he's first allowed to recruit off campus.

Don't think you'll ever see Bo Davis back at Bama. Him breaking the bump rule wasn't a big deal, him lying was. He could have gotten off with a fine and a short suspension, but he made it much worse by not being honest...

I have a feeling that Bama will bring Bo back after his NCAA punushment is served and he’s eligible.

We need him back as soon as possible. Recruiting defensive tackles is the hardest damn thing to do right now....

I have known the Foster since middle school and he is a good kid. I also know a lot of the people at the school including his principal, counselor, and coach . They all say he is a leader on and off the court. The have work several of his games as a football official and the kid is a winner. It is really sad that you put inaccurate information about a recruit on here. If he had character issues Saban would not be recruiting him.

You may be telling the truth about his character but Saban will go after kid with character flaws as long as it isn't too serious. Kids frick up.

Recruiting question of the day: Anything behind Alabama QB target Emory Jones’ comment on Ohio State commit? | SEC Country
quote:

What do you make of Emory Jones’ comment to new WR commit Kamryn Babb joining OSU’s class? If he truly means “welcome to the family,” who does Bama turn to at QB?

From @AndyPTA91

For those who did not see it, Andy is referring to Emory Jones welcoming Kamryn Babb, a 4-star wide receiver, to Ohio State’s 2018 recruiting class. Jones sent Babb a message on Twitter that said, “welcome to the family.” I’m not sure why, but Jones has since deleted the tweet.

I don’t think there’s anything behind Jones welcoming Babb to Ohio State’s class. After all, Jones, Alabama’s top quarterback target, is committed to the Buckeyes and has been for two years. And don’t think that Jones being pro-Ohio State on Twitter means anything. Alex Leatherwood, who was arguably the Tide’s best peer recruiter in the 2017 class and extremely pro-Alabama on Twitter, nearly flipped to Florida near the end of the recruiting cycle. So, for the most part, what these kids say on Twitter is meaningless.

SEC Country spoke with Jones just two weeks ago about where he stands with Ohio State. Since then, the Buckeyes added a commitment from quarterback Matthew Baldwin, a former Colorado State commit.

“I mean, I’m committed there [to Ohio State],” Jones said earlier this month. “I am checking out other schools, though. When I told them that I was 110 percent committed, I said that I wanted to continue visiting schools. Before I committed, I didn’t get the chance to do so. I think they didn’t really care at the time I told them. When I actually started doing it, though, they definitely got worried. But I’m still committed. As of right now, that’s where I’m going.”

Even with just a week to go until the first day of the early signing period, Jones still hasn’t shut down his recruitment. In fact, when Ohio State added Baldwin, one source close to the Ohio State program said Jones was “confused.” Jones had told SEC Country prior to Baldwin’s commitment that the Ohio State staff told him that they needed to start looking at other quarterbacks because he had taken visits elsewhere and hadn’t shut down his recruitment.

“I really don’t care. It’s a business. I know how it goes,” Jones said of Ohio State’s inquiries to other quarterbacks. “They let me know that they were going to do it beforehand. When I started going on visits, they told me that they were going to have to start taking people in on official visits. I was OK with it. But I’m committed there. It’s not a big deal.”

Ohio State will take both quarterbacks in its class if it turns out that Jones wants to stick with the Buckeyes, but, again, he hasn’t 100 percent made up his mind.

If Jones sticks with OSU, James Foster, a former Missouri quarterback commit from Montgomery, Ala., will become the Tide’s top target. Alabama has been in frequent communication with Foster these last few weeks. I know some Alabama fans have asked me if that means the staff has conceded Jones to Ohio State. That’s not the case. The Alabama staff is just doing its job in recruiting — the team doesn’t just recruit its top targets. You have to continue recruiting your plan B and C guys just in case you don’t get Plan A.

Foster dreamed about going to Alabama when he was younger, so if the Tide push for him if they miss out on Jones, it wouldn’t surprise me to see him in crimson in 2018.

Alabama LB commit Cameron Latu changes plan, will now sign early | SEC Country
quote:

Cameron Latu, a 4-star Jack linebacker from Olympus High School (Salt Lake City), wasn’t planning on signing early but he has changed his mind after taking an official visit to Alabama this past weekend.

Latu, the nation’s No. 7 weakside defensive end in the 2018 class, according to the 247Sports Composite, that his recruitment is 100 percent over.

“I’m not taking any more official visits,” Latu told SEC Country. “I know that’s the place I want to be.”

The 6-foot-5, 236-pound prospect was contemplating taking official visits to Southern California and Utah, but those visits will no longer happen. He’ll sign with the Crimson Tide on Dec. 20, which is the first day of the early signing period.

The Polynesian Bowl commit said Jeremy Pruitt leaving for Tennessee didn’t affect his recruitment at all.

“I really didn’t ask about that, and that wasn’t a question I had at all,” Latu said. “I love Coach Pruitt, but he’s got to do what’s best for him, and I’m happy for what he’s doing for himself.”

Latu won’t enroll at Alabama until the summer.

Alabama commit Jalyn Armour-Davis will now sign early | SEC Country
quote:

Alabama cornerback commit Jalyn Armour-Davis wasn’t planning on signing early because his school didn’t allow early graduates, and he was planning on taking visits elsewhere in January.

Those visits won’t happen anymore.

Armour-Davis, a 4-star prospect from St. Paul’s Episcopal (Mobile, Ala.), will now sign during the early signing period, according to Ben Thomas of AL.com.

“I’m glad he’s going to go ahead and sign,” St. Paul’s head coach Steve Mask told Thomas. “If you know where you are going to go, I think you should go ahead and do it. I’m not a big fan of committing to school and then continuing to take a lot of visits. If you are engaged to someone, you are not going to be dating other people. The word committed should mean something.”

The nation’s No. 15 cornerback was one of the Tide’s prized commitments early on in this recruiting class. He originally didn’t have Alabama in his top 6 schools, but the Crimson Tide, led by primary recruiter Jeremy Pruitt and defensive backs coach Derrick Ansley, helped Alabama get back in the mix for him and eventually land his commitment.

Since he chose the Tide, Armour-Davis hasn’t visited any other schools and hasn’t wavered once on his decision. Armour-Davis will enroll at Alabama next summer.

It isn't my opinion, man. Simmer down. I'm just posting what someone else has said. Like Sargent Schultz, I know nothing. However, I don't really doubt the person that has emphatically mentioned it.
