A date has been set.

Rivals 250 cornerback Jaycee Horn of Alpharetta (Ga.) has pulled in offers from top programs coast to coast, but he is down to two that play in the SEC and he knows when he will commit to one.

"It is Alabama and South Carolina," said Horn. "It is just those two schools that I am considering. It will be one of those when I commit on July 15."

There is nothing special about that date for Horn. He feels that will give him enough time to figure out if he wants to call Tuscaloosa (Ala.) or Columbia (S.C.) home in the future.

He knows it won't be an easy decision.

"I talk to each school every day and I like the same things about each school. I know I can't go wrong with either school, so it is going to be tough."

Horn spent time on each campus in the spring and he has a great connection with each coaching staff. He feels at home at each school and the coaches have made him feel important.

Like many top football prospects, he wants a chance to play early and he sees that opportunity at Alabama and South Carolina.

He will stay in communication with each school the next few weeks and be ready to commit July 15.

"The commitment date gives me enough time to certify my decision," said Horn. "I just want to be sure of my decision. I know it will be tough and I know it will be Alabama or South Carolina.

"Neither has has the edge right now."

As odd as it sounds our head to head recruiting record against South Carolina fricking sucks. I can't think of one kid we've beat them for under Saban.

Non-recruiting related, but my wife and I were shaving my little dog the other day and we ended up cutting off a piece of his rear foot pad in the process.

He appears to be okay but the little son of a bitch didn't make a sound when it happened. However, when his toe nail on the same foot got touched he yelped like a motherfricker.

Dogs are crazy.

We have a miniature schnauzer. Toughest motherfricker on the planet. Until he decides not to be.

We gave him a schnauzer cut. His hair gets long as frick so we shave him every two months or so.

He's a mean little bastard except to me. I can manhandle his arse all day long and he won't do shite. Let the wife or one of the kids try to do it and he bites.

My neighbors kid is freaking insane and he came up to me the other day and said "Whenever I try to pet your dog he bites me."

Scout caught up with four-star defensive tackle Bobby Brown, who spoke about his his recent visit to see Alabama...

Bobby Brown, 6-foot-4, 270-pound athletic defensive tackle from Arlington (Texas) Lamar is one of the top recruiting targets in the Lone Star State in the Class of 2018, and he made a recent trip to Tuscaloosa, Ala., to check out the Crimson Tide.

He competed in the camp and took in the program and facilities after.

"Going to Bama I didn't know I was going to do the camp," Brown said. "Me and my mom was halfway there and she wakes me -- because I was asleep in the car -- and said they want you to work the camp. I was a little nervous."

"The first part of the camp we warmed up and then we did a circuit thing that we just went through eight different circuits for five minutes each and then we did one-on-ones.

"Then after camp I got to go up to coach Nick Saban's office and talk to coach Saban," Brown continued. "It was unexplainable. When they told me that Nick Saban wanted to talk to me, I was like are you sure it's me? Nick Saban wants to talk to me?"

Brown broke down what it was like to sit down and have a one-on-one experience with the Alabama head coach.

"Just sitting there and being in the presence of Nick Saban and being able to talk to him as a a person and him being able to separate business and conversation meant a lot to me," Brown explained.

Brown's mom also had the opportunity to meet and talk with coach Saban.

"He had the opportunity to talk to my mom and we had a conversation about first and last whoopin," Brown said with a laugh. "My last one -- I don't think I will ever have a last one, and you can make sure you put that in there -- was when I was about 13 or 14."

Brown also liked being able to work with and be around a couple of the other Bama staff members that he is growing a relationship with.

"Another highlight was getting to meet coach Tosh (Lupoi) and coach (Karl) Dunbar," Brown said. "Being able to talk with and sit with them and getting to learn their personality and everything, that was nice too. Coach Tosh is a great guy and that is the guy who is recruiting me. Coach Dunbar I can tell he is a great coach. He is real energetic and everything."

Brown is still on track to make his commitment on on November 2. He has not named a favorites list, but also has offers from programs like LSU, Michigan, Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Baylor and more.

We really beat out Florida for Miller though. He was committed to them at one point if I remember correctly.

We do the puppy cut. He doesn't shed but the hair grows fast as hell. We did the traditional schnauzer cut once, and decided it wasn't for him. Hard to keep clean.

Love the little bastard. We were on vacation in North Carolina and Georgia for a week. Was ready to pick his little arse up at the daycare.

It's amazing hearing these kids interactions with Saban. It's like hearing the stories about Bryant. Completely in awe of the Man.

We left ours at a kennel when we went camping in Waynesboro, TN, a couple years ago and while we were gone he got his left eye knocked out.

The owner of the kennel (sweet old lady) kept the dogs at her house. Well she held the little dogs inside her house and sheltered the big dogs outside. While letting the little ones outside to pee my dog got knocked off her back wooden deck and he hit his eye on the corner of a step. Knocked it clean out. She rushed him to a vet and they were able to push it back in, but the eye was dead. The vet sewed it shut for a week, but after removing the stitches the eye started bulging so we decided to have it removed.

He runs into shite sometimes but other than that he's fine.

He's fine. His hair around that eye socket is black so most people don't even notice until we point it out.

Oh mine did when it happened. She cried for days on end.

Well I got three little human shits I have to deal with.

They're good kids though. My oldest was named the MVP of his baseball league this season. He's 12.

My middle child is probably the smartest kid I've ever met. He plays golf and wants to be a Chemical Engineer.

My daughter is the best softball player in her league even though this is her first year playing. She's so girly that we thought she would be terrible. Boy did she prove us wrong. Through 8 games this season she has gotten a hit at every at bat save one. She had never even thrown or caught a softball before last month.

A dog's foot pads have few or no nerve endings. It's fortunate for them that they don't, but toenails are a different story. They're very sensitive and you've got to be very careful not to cut too much of the nail off. I've got a 23 lb. pound dog that it literally takes a muzzle and 2 people or 3 people without a muzzle to clip the nails....she's a real bitch when it comes to her nails!............I couldn't stop myself from saying that, sorry.

There's a lot of insecurity in that thread between the posts and downvotes.

Alabama may only have five commitments in its 2018 class, but it's been in just about every top schools list a recruit has put out this spring, the latest coming from four-star defensive end Malcolm Lamar out of Seffner (Fla.) Armwood.

Alongside the Tide, LSU, Oregon, Ole Miss, and Tennessee made the cut in no order.

Earlier in the spring, Lamar said Alabama and Florida were the two schools sticking out.

“When you think NCAA Football, you think Alabama,” Lamar told 247Sports.

At 6-foot-5, 250 pounds, Lamar is rated the No. 7 strong-side defensive end and the No. 174 overall player in the country, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite.

The Crystal Ball is trending Gators despite UF not making the cut.
