Tommy Brown finally offered by us.

Interdasting.

I wonder if they aren't getting a good vibe from Nicolas Petit-Frere.

He has said an Alabama offer would be extremely hard to turn down.

The long-awaited offer from Alabama finally came for Tommy Brown, a four-star tackle from Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei, on Thursday.

I'm excited to announce that I just got off the phone with my Father's alma mater and received an offer from the University of Alabama! #RTR pic.twitter.com/HKfezU3he6
— Tommy Brown (@Tommy_brown18) June 15, 2017

Brown, whose father threw shot put for the Crimson Tide, grew up a fan of Alabama in the Golden State, first learning the tradition of his father's alma mater at the 2010 Rose Bowl when UA defeated Texas for its first national championship under Nick Saban.

“I remember walking down the hill with my dad and someone said ‘Roll Tide’ and I was like what does that mean dad?," Brown told 247Sports early on in his recruitment. "So he explained that that’s what the Alabama people say. It was good getting to see that and ever since then I’ve been watching Alabama.”

The 6-foot-6.5, 313-pounder has visited Tuscaloosa twice in the last year, once for camp last July, and again this past April alongside teammates JT Daniels and Solomon Tuliaupupu.

Brown has long coveted a potential offer from the Tide.

“It’d mean the world,” Brown said before UA pulled the trigger on Thursday. “It’d be a dream come true.”

Brown is rated the No. 14 offensive tackle and the No. 162 overall player in the country, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite.

Oregon currently leads the Crystal Ball at 50 percent.

Another thing to keep in mind regarding the Tommy Brown offer is his QB is none other than 2019 5-star QB JT Daniels.

Alabama added its fourth commitment to the 2018 class on Thursday morning, as the nation’s No. 1 punter, Skyler DeLong, flipped his commitment from Tennessee to the Crimson Tide.

“When I went around the campus I felt like home,” DeLong said of when he knew he wanted to commit.

DeLong committed the Volunteers on June 1, just days before attending Alabama’s specialist camp where he earned the offer.

Punter is one of the Tide’s biggest needs in the class with JK Scott’s eligibility running out after the upcoming season. DeLong says he spoke with Scott at the camp.

“I would also like to mention my kicking coach Dan Orner,” DeLong said. “I wouldn’t even be in the place I am today without him.”

Alabama head coach Nick Saban gave DeLong the offer himself, making the Fort Mill (S.C.) Nation Ford product the only punter offered by the Tide.

“He just told me I’m the guy he wants, and I was ready to play for him,” DeLong said.

Aside from feeling like home, DeLong talked about other standout features of Alabama.

“The coaches, the campus, and to have a chance to play for a legendary coach,” he said.

DeLong talked about the Tennessee staff’s reaction to his change of heart.

“They were just wishing me the best career, and also they were very professional about it,” he said.

Alabama fans have become accustomed – at least in the last two recruiting classes – to their specialists committing in June, and flipping elsewhere late in the cycle.

“Just to Bama, nowhere else,” DeLong said of any potential visits elsewhere.

As a part of the Tide’s 2018 class, the 6-foot-4, 180-pounder, gave a message to uncommitted recruits considering Alabama.

“When you walk on campus you will know if it’s for you or not,” DeLong said.

TS is it common for the low amount of commits for you guys right now? At this point you guys can cherry pick all of your guys so is it going to be a NSD splash?

Under Shula? Yes.

Under Saban? No. We've apparently reset our board 3 different times due to Junior film and camp performances. Word is guys we initially had very high on the board had underwhelming Junior tape and we went back to square one. Then some highly ranked guys were outperformed in camp by others and they reset it again.

Is that true or "insider" speak due to the lack of commitments? I honestly don't know.

I have mixed feelings on this. I really enjoy an exciting NSD where we get 5-6 guys to go out with a bang, but also enjoy having the majority of the class wrapped up by then so we know where we stand and add 1 or 2 holdouts.

Our "insiders" and mods all say we'll have double digits commits by the end of Summer though. I just don't know who will pop by then.

Zamir White is making his announcement in less than 2 weeks and if he goes to Georgia (my prediction) we'll probably land Asa Martin in August. So either way our RB spot could be filled within 2 months.

We just offered a Top 125 player, who happens to be a legacy, at OT. I imagine he'll join the fold sooner rather than later.

Most of our WR targets are expected to drag it out.

Jalen Cunningham has been on commit watch forever, but word now is he needs to have a strong showing at camp to be able to commit.

No one knows what the hell is going on with our DB board. Some mods say a guy has a committable offer when others say otherwise.

Our QB targets are all committed to other schools, sans McKee, and he's really a 2020 recruit due to his Mormon mission trip.

So, long story short, I have no idea. I'm usually pretty damn good at piecing together all the Intel out there and reading between the lines to have an idea of 75% of the class, but this year is different. There's too many conflicting reports out there.

I'd also like to ask you a favor. I haven't been able to post on the Tiger Rant and LSURb for over a year now due to certain factors:

1. Being an Alabama fan.
2. Past history of hammering certain LSU fans for stupidity.
3. A combination of 1 and 2.

I'd like to be able to post there again, sans the hammering, to be able to address posts in a civil manner.

Would you be willing to advocate on my behalf if I started a thread requesting reinstatement on the Help Board? Even Cobrasize (love that dude) has noticed I've reigned in the hammering since football ended.

Yeah I know. The problem is people see the little script "A" next to my username and all relevancy of my posts gets thrown out the window.

I could be praising LSU and someone would take issue with it.

ITs always worth a shot. I still haven't been able to get on the Georgia board. Just one of those things.

We aren't really in the running, but Justin Fields' recruitment bears watching due to his interest in Florida, Georgia and Auburn.

Having said that, one of the Clemson mods just CB'd him to Florida State.
