Dwight, Buggs, Davis, Williams, Mathis, Ray, Barmore, Wynn, Brown (if he signs).

Davis, Latu, and Anoma are wayyyyy too thin to be DL in a 3-4, and will likely be LB's.

That lack of depth is extremely alarming.

9 guys / 3 DL positions = 3 deep.

Other potential DL:
Turn Langham back our way?
Jarez Parks (others?) big enough by fall?
Move Kedrick James to DL?
Sign Glenn Beal?

Seems quite possible to be 11-12 deep by fall.

Don't forget Parks, I believe I read somewhere that he was up around 270ish. Also a guy like Anfrenee Jennings might be able to carry 15lbs more.

We might be forced to not redshirt guys that need it. Most years we have at least 11 DL on scholarship.

At the position Langham would be playing, lack of depth next year doesn't seem too alarming to me. Parks also involved on the edge? And like I said, in my sunshine scenario, I'm including Neal. Also, and I understand they're probably different positions, but Jennings, Lewis, and Miller also play a lot on the edge with their hand on the ground.

Hopefully this is to drum up suspense(although I don’t truly believe that lol) for signing announcement. Damn we need him

Adjusting to the early signing period comes into play here too. Saban and staff will obviously approach the 2019 class a lot differently.

There were some other underrated DL in-state that were scouted, but inked elsewhere in the early period (Allen Love and Jalen Cunningham). Those are guys that were typically still available at this point when other prospects were missed. Just can’t slow play in-state talent anymore.

I think Saban got complacent this year with having too many people on staff that aren't great recruiters. He appears to have corrected that with the changes he made. We really need to hit it out of the park at DL (specifically, DT) and DB next year. It doesn't appear that we lead for many of the top DT's and DB's, although it's still early. If we lose out on PS2 and either Langham or Brown, I don't think our staff can afford to be as picky by telling quality DL and DB recruits that want to come to wait.

Alabama’s edge LB depth will help a ton in combating the depth and experience issues on the DL. But 2019 will clearly see an emphasis on the DL.

As this year was supposed to be. Geez. I agree, if they want to come ... better lock em up early

At this point, we can't afford to be as picky in the 2019 class at DL, as we'll be losing Buggs, Dwight and possibly Davis, and if we don't get Langham, that will leave us with 6 DL on scholarship. Need at least 4 studs in the 2019 class. It doesn't appear that we lead for many of the top dogs in 2019, but it's still one year away.

This garbage class wasn’t worthy of this many posts. We haven’t had a class this bad on paper since 2010.

Beal will be in this class.

Maybe the rumors are true that we asked Langham to greyshirt, as weird and unlikely as that sounds.

I know nothing specifically about the Langham situation, yet, though. I do know that Beal has vaulted WAYYYYYYY up the board. Don't shoot the messenger here, but a very well connected individual (who all here would be familiar with) said that the DL pecking order was 1.Brown 2.Beal 3.Langham.

I'm still skeptical on us not taking Langham until I see it.

This should piss Saban off to no end. He should have a "set the world on fire" mentality going into next season. Blow every team out. Win with offense. Put your foot on their neck early and stomp them before halftime. Show everyone he ain't fricking around

If we miss on Brown and Langham, Dunbar should be fired on the spot and then go home and find a horse's head in his bed. No excuse with our track-record of putting DL in the NFL and our need at DL to be missing on this many guys down the stretch. None at all.
