Been “opening up the offense” for years now it seeens. Lol
Ensminger couldn't do shite with AU's offense in 2003 & the very next year it couldn't be stopped with Al Borges using basically same personnel. There are plenty of reasons for a LA wideout to pick LSU over AU but I find it kinda hilarious that believing Ensminger will get you the ball more than Malzahn is gonna be the big reason

I feel like I'm waiting on announcements waiting on Surge to feel in the blanks lol

To show him the importance, Saban should have Dunbar drive the papers to Malik...... oh wait, nevermind.

What games can we play? That doesn't even make any sense. Kid has a spot nothing to play about.
Posted on 2/5/18 at 12:26 pm to Tide or Die87
I was just joking about Dunbar not being able to make it to him for the in home because of traffic. Unless CNS has some super secret recruits on the DL, I have no idea what games.

He's not saying you will "play games" just that if Bama were to string him along at all then that would push him to AU. He's already got stuff to sign from AU/UF allegedly but is waiting on papers from Bama. "Playing games" would mean Bama waiting to send those papers until they hear about other prospects. Like you said tho that probably isn't the case because ya'll have a spot for him
Basically if no crazy shite happens ya'll probably sign Langham
Posted on 2/5/18 at 12:32 pm to TigerPaw1
Yea I'm just saying we have no reason to string him along. We can't even have contact with him I believe. I could see if he was a kid we were on the fence about.

I imagine UA is likely sending papers today for everyone they are expecting/hoping will sign on Wednesday. Very doubtful they would hold papers on a kid that is a definite take. Like you said, UA isn't waiting to hear from someone else, he is a definite take for us.

That would be so awesome.
Saban: Karl, I need you to take these papers to Malik Langham today.
Dunbar: Coach, I'm really busy today. Got a lot of things planned and can't make any recruiting trips.
Saban: Get your damn arse out of this office right now and get the f**k up to Huntsville.
Dunbar: Yes sir!

Not great. He's bought the "we are going to finally open up the offense" pitch from Ensminger. That's never backfired has it?
Even if they don't open it up one plus is NFL teams love lsu WRs. They come in as good pros because they run block and have to run efficient routes. I like chase a lot and feel very confident we get him but I don't think he's a 5 star talent. Also I've been told chase has started to want to be close to home more and more and that's a big factor

One thing is lsu can preach "you're the wr we are missing and we need to be able to open it up and these kids buy in. Honestly I expect lsu will be more 4 wide next year due to the lack of a elite rb so I halfway believe Ensminger pitch

Handing out superlatives for the class of 2018
quote:
Our opinions are clear on the class of 2018. They’re right there for everyone to see in our Top247 but rankings don’t always tell the full story of what each prospect really is. In fact, they rarely do. So with National Signing Day just 48 hours away, here are some superlatives for the class of 2018 that dig a little deeper into what some major programs are getting out of this class.
He's Ready – Jamaree Salyer, OG, Georgia
Don’t worry about the depth chart. This kid will play. Salyer is advanced physically, he’s heavy but wears the weight well and he’s nimble at that size but it’s not even the physical attributes that make him the most college ready. It’s the other stuff. He’s extremely smart, extremely competitive, approaches competitive settings with a worker’s demeanor and despite all of that, he’s got some jerk to him in pads when it needs to come out. I’ll be shocked if he’s not playing as a freshman.
Top247 Ranking: 8
Lowest Risk – Xavier Thomas, DE, Clemson
I don’t know if Xavier Thomas gets drafted in the first round. He’s not some freak specimen. But the kid sure is good. He also plays hard. He plays smart. He has displayed great work ethic and a deliberate approach to working at his craft. Thomas won’t need to be an impact player immediately at Clemson with a loaded front returning but he will be another great one on the Clemson defensive line and he will play NFL football. Think Derek Barnett here.
Top247 Ranking: 4
Most Overlooked – Kamryn Babb, WR, Ohio State
Last summer, Babb was considered by us at 247Sports as a strong candidate to finish the 2018 cycle as the No. 1 wide receiver in the country. Then he missed his entire senior season due to injury, missed the Army Bowl and fell out of the national consciousness. But he’s still the same guy he was before injury, a physical, explosive, scary playmaker. Ohio State welcomed another dynamic freshman that missed his senior season in high school last fall: Freshman All-American J.K. Dobbins.
Top247 Ranking: 36
Culture Fit – Josh Jobe, DB, Alabama
I’m not going to pretend to know the depths of who these prospects are based on talking to them a few times and watching them play in a couple of games. But pay attention and you can still get a feel for their persona and attitude. At Alabama, it sure seems like the guys that have the most success are the serious, no-nonsense types. Julio Jones was like that. Jalen Hurts is like that. T.J. Yeldon was like that. The list is long. Josh Jobe has that same kind of intensity to his approach that some of those guys had. He’s also a big, physical, versatile defensive back that can find a lot of different spots to help in Nick Saban’s secondary.
Top247 Ranking: 40
Earliest Starting QB – JT Daniels, USC
There are two quarterbacks in the class of 2018 ranked higher than but those two guys (Trevor Lawrence and Justin Fields) don’t have anywhere near the opportunity Daniels has at USC. In fact, that opportunity is why he’ll be at USC next fall and not back in high school for his senior year. I think Daniels saw an opportunity on the USC depth chart to go win a job after Sam Darnold’s departure and I think Daniels is good enough to do just that. The polish, the chalkboard competence and the innate feel for the position are all things that are going to allow his talent to take over shortly after his arrival on campus in the summer.
Top247 Ranking: 6
Maturity Beyond His Years – Jordyn Adams, WR, North Carolina
Adams is already a pro. The son of the North Carolina defensive line coach, it’s clear Adams has been taught how to train, how to compete, how to take care of himself. He received rave reviews from the coaches at the Army Bowl with regards to his approach to learning the playbook and preparation. He’ll be ready to play immediately at North Carolina next fall assuming he isn’t officially a pro in his other sport of baseball by then.
Top247 Ranking: 14
Nastiest – Nesta Silvera, DT, Miami
You’re going to feel Silvera’s presence on the field. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a game, camp or All-American setting, the active interior defender has the type of motor and mentality that you’ve got to have to be elite on the defensive line. He’ll talk trash but it’s really the style of play that makes him nasty. Silvera is just relentless and plays with an edge that is hard to miss and will be contagious for his teammates on the next level.
Top247 Ranking: 42
Mr. Personality – Leon O'Neal Jr.., S, uncommitted
In typical defensive back fashion, Leon O’Neal is always talking. He talks trash on the field and off the field but it’s typically in a really good-natured way. Often, on the high school level, a trash talker can go hand-in-hand with a front-runner. That’s not O’Neal. He’ll make a lot of noise but he lets his play do plenty of the talking, too, and he seems to be as enamored with the work as he is the results. On the surface, O’Neal seems to have the type of personality that brings good energy to a practice and a locker room.
Top247 Ranking: 86
Biggest Enigma – Joey Gatewood, QB/ATH, Auburn
He’s one of the most talented prospects in this class but we don’t think he’s a quarterback. He hasn’t shown the ability to be consistent as a thrower and wasn’t even a full-time starter through most of his high school career. But with his frame, body and athleticism, Gatewood could be beast at something. And with Gus Malzahn as his head coach, at least on the college level, quarterback could actually work.
Top247 Ranking: 91
Biggest Hitter – Otis Reese, S/LB, Michigan
Ohio State signee Teradja Mitchell and USC signee Palaie Gaoteote both have a strong case for this title but I’ll give the slight edge to Reese, a huge safety whose size and physicality may force him into the box on the college level. His highlights are great but in a game setting, he’s looking for kill shots on every play. The speed he plays with before the collision is as exciting as the collision itself. He’s an important one for Michigan to hang on to as Georgia pushes late.
Top247 Ranking: 73
Boom Or Bust – Christian Barmore, DT, Alabama
Barmore has all of the physical traits that Alabama typically turns into first-round NFL draft picks. And that’s a distinct possibility with Barmore. But he’s raw. He hasn’t played a lot of football. He doesn’t play a high level of competition at his high school. There’s also a real possibility that if Barmore doesn’t get on the field quickly at Alabama that he doesn’t get on the field at all, as the next crop of five-stars arrive in Tuscaloosa.
