What do you think of AmericusDawg's new website?
I knew I was gonna be asked that eventually.
He and I have been talking about it offline for a couple weeks now. I think it has the potential to be really, really good based on the ideas he has run by me.
It should be a lot less strict than this place (not our board, but TD in general).
He's a really cool dude too. He sent me some pics of his national championship game experience and some of the stories from it were fricking hilarious.

Is it up and running?? I read him discussing it with other posters on UGA board.

Quick gets fifth star on 247Sports Composite
quote:
247Sports updated its 2019 rankings on Thursday and, in the process, Alabama offensive line commit Pierce Quick received a fifth star in the 247Sports Composite -- an industry-generated average -- rankings.
Quick, Alabama's longest-tenured 2019 commitment, pledged to the Crimson Tide last April and hasn't looked back since.
The Hewitt-Trussville (Ala.) product joins five-star center Clay Webb (Oxford, Ala.) and four-star tackle Amari Kight (Alabaster, Ala.) to make up a very strong offensive line class in the state for 2019. All three are top Tide targets .
At 6-foot-5, 285 pounds, Quick is rated the No. 4 offensive tackle and the No. 23 overall player in the country, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite.
He visited Tuscaloosa last weekend and is expected back this upcoming weekend.

Yes.
I'm not going to post the URL here after what happened to the Houndstooth a few years ago. I don't want him to have to deal with the same shite Magilla and Chiild did back then.
It is full of Dawg "insiders" though. Good info there.

That should show you how down of a year it is for this cycle in Alabama
Posted on 2/1/18 at 6:29 pm to BIGJLAW
Just think we have had a 5 star decommit from 2019. If not for that we would be right there for number 1. Next year will be epic

They don’t want traffic on the site? Lol

2019 SHOULD see Bama return to being a dominant recruiting force. I'm just hoping for a little magic next Wednesday so this class doesn't set us back in a couple of years.
If we can land Surtain or Campbell along with Eddie Smith and perhaps even ITS along with a couple of our other targets like NPF, Sewell, Ross, Waddle, Copeland, etc I'll feel like we held serve this year. If we strike out on most of those guys, we are gonna need an epic 2019 class to cover some of the weaknesses of the 2018 class.

Why do you think his class will set us back? It will be top 5 with filling huge positions of need.

I was under the impression that ITS was a heavy lean to us
There have been some indications that he is since his OV to Bama, but it appears he's below Surtain, Campbell and Smith on Bama's board. I suspect Smith is a silent commit to Bama.

This season won't set us back. We have recruited so well and our positions of need look like they will be filled

Everyone is acting like our class is going to suck. It’s really good now and will be even better when it’s finished.

I agree we will likely finish top 5. If we close strong, we could even end up top 3-4. But that all remains to be seen, correct? Our class is currently #6 on 247 composite and #9 on Rivals and that counts Quay and Jackson, two 4-stars who will likely flip. IOW, we can't flop next Wednesday or we will not finish in the top 5 for the first time in over a decade.
As much as we all love guys like Eddie Smith, White/Purdy, Langham, etc...none of those guys are gonna move our class much. If you don't believe me go play with the class calculator on 247. We need guys like Surtain, Campbell, NPF, Ross, Waddle, etc to really move this class into the top 3-5. Hoping for a strong finish and top 3 composite class.

Suck absolutely not but losing six starters in the secondary will certainly hurt the next two years if Alabama strikes out on their secondary targets and that is a possibility.
Posted on 2/1/18 at 7:12 pm to Sebastian
What mattered on this class was getting top DL and DBs.
We probably are going to sign the best DB class we have ever signed and definitely the best DL class of 2018.
We're already stacked everywhere else. Didn't need those reinforcements till 2019 which we are stacked in state.
We won. People just don't understand.

I'm not as cincern d about where this class ranks as I am about filling the needs of the secondary and DL. Brown flipping to ATM, Langham going anywhere else and missing on all of the CB targets will hurt next year for sure and then the next season experience becomes a problem.
