2. OT Alex Leatherwood
Alabama commit Alex Leatherwood once again bullied pass rushers of all types on Thursday. The 6-foot-5, 325-pound prospect stuffed the speed rush at left tackle consistently before moving to guard, where he stopped five-star defensive tackle Marvin Wilson on back-to-back reps. The Pensacola (Fla.) Washington standout continues to show impressive power and is nearly immovable once he anchors his feet.

4. WR Jerry Jeudy
Alabama commit Jerry Jeudy once again was able to shake free from defensive backs consistently on Thursday. When given a free release on the line of scrimmage, the Deerfield Beach (Fla.) product’s nifty footwork gives cornerbacks fits and allows him to get a step on the defender. There may not be a better receiver in the country when it comes to running routes with double moves than Jeudy.

9. DT LaBryan Ray
Top-50 prospect LaBryan Ray was not quite as dominant during one-on-ones on Day Two, but during the scrimmage, the 6-foot-4, 255-pound prospect flashed again. The Madison (Ala.) James Clemens product has a quick first step and does an excellent job using his hands.

10. S Xavier McKinney
Top-100 safety Xavier McKinney was very good in coverage for a majority of the day. The Roswell (Ga.) product’s highlight play was when he stuck with wide receiver Daquon Green on an out route before undercutting the pass for an interception. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound prospect is more than capable in run support, but his ability to stay attached to receivers has been a pleasant surprise.

Five-star Alabama linebacker commit Dylan Moses spoke with 247Sports' Kipp Adams on Thursday talking all things Crimson Tide.
The Bradenton (Fla.) IMG product will enroll in Tuscaloosa next month.
At 6-foot-3, 235 pounds, Moses is rated the No. 1 outside linebacker and the No. 8 overall player in the country, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite.
He committed to Alabama over LSU in October.

ORLANDO, Fla. — DeAngelo Gibbs won’t announce his commitment until Sunday at the Under Armour All-America Game, but he already knows where he’s going. He came up with his decision on Wednesday.
The nation’s No. 3 safety told SEC Country that after sleeping on his decision that he realized which school was going to get his commitment. He hasn’t notified the coaching staff at the school he’s selected, but he’s content with his choice.
“This is probably one of my best opportunities to go in right away and do what I need to do,” Gibbs said.
Gibbs said he’s applied to only two schools, but he didn’t name them. He sent in his applications for those colleges a couple of months ago, but he couldn’t remember exactly when.
His recruitment as of late has been viewed as an Alabama-Georgia race with two sources telling SEC Country that they truly believe it is a 50-50 dead heat for Gibbs’ services.
The 4-star prospect took an official visit to Alabama on Oct. 22 for the Texas A&M game, and since then, the Crimson Tide have gained significant momentum for Gibbs. Alabama has kept in daily contact with him since he’s been in Orlando. The staff has been sending him pictures of their preparation for the Peach Bowl.
“They stepped their game up in the recruiting process,” Gibbs said of Alabama. “Ever since the ninth grade, they’ve been on me hard. When you have Coach (Nick) Saban fly out to see you, it means a lot. He came to see my mom, dad and saw some people from my church. That just shows how much they need me.”
If Gibbs chose Alabama, he knows he’ll be reporting to Tuscaloosa on Jan. 9. If it’s Georgia, he’ll be in Athens on Jan. 7. That’s a pretty good indicator of how close this recruitment actually is. He also knows he’d be rooming with his cousin J.R. Reed at Georgia. He didn’t name the person at Alabama, but he did say that it wouldn’t be with his good friend Dylan Moses.

ORLANDO, Fla. — Last week wasn’t great for 4-star defensive tackle Phidarian Mathis. Mathis’ truck and phone were stolen in his hometown of Monroe, La., after he left his keys inside of the vehicle.
He ended up getting his truck and phone back a few days later. He doesn’t know who stole his truck, but he’s happy that the incident is behind him now.
“It’s been a crazy equipment week for me,” Mathis told SEC Country. “I just got everything back. I just needed to get a new key made for the truck. Everything is OK now and I’m back on track.”
Despite having his phone stolen, Alabama, LSU and TCU — his final three schools — all found a way to get in touch with him to make sure everything was OK.
“Even though I didn’t have my phone, they still found a way to get in touch with me,” Mathis said. “That made me feel really special. That’s good right there.”
Mathis said Alabama still communicates with him every single day. That’s been happening now for several months, and he still says the Crimson Tide are recruiting him the hardest. He’s grown comfortable in Tuscaloosa after several visits there.
He remains a priority to Alabama even after getting junior college defensive lineman Isaiah Buggs to sign his letter of intent. Mathis, along with 5-star defensive tackle Aubrey Solomon and 4-star DT Javon Kinlaw, are the main targets at the position.
“They always put the message out that they need big, aggressive defensive linemen,” Mathis said. “They have a big need for that. They have a lot of guys leaving after the season. I like the school a lot. I love the coaching staff. They make me feel great.
“They are always talking to me. We stay in good contact. We talk a lot. Everything is going well with Alabama.”
The nation’s No. 11 defensive tackle will take an official visit to Alabama on Jan. 20. The previous weekend, he’ll be at LSU. Mathis doesn’t know the date for his TCU official visit yet, but he believes it could be the final weekend before signing day.
He’s expecting to take those official visits and make a decision after that. Mathis said the reason why he would pick his school of choice is that it’s a place that feels like home, offers a great education and it’s a place where he can feel like he’s well taken care of by the coaching staff.
So, his reason for why he would choose Alabama if he was making his commitment today bodes well for the Tide’s chances.
“It feels like home and I know I’m going to get a good education there and I’m going to be well taken care of,” Mathis said.

ALABAMA
With so many commits on the field and so many players buzzing about the Tide off the field, it’s hard for them not to have a good day this week. The nation’s No. 1 wide receiver and Alabama commitment Jerry Jeudy continues to do his best Calvin Ridley impression and looks ready to step in and contribute early. On the offensive line Alex Leatherwood and Jedrick Wills have been dominant, with Leatherwood finishing off one-on-ones by tossing a defensive lineman into the ground. Add in a pick-six from commit Dylan Moses and a good day from major defensive end target LaBryan Ray and Alabama is rolling as usual.

Both sound like UGA IMO.

Alex Leatherwood
One of the big tests for Leatherwood this week was all the edge rushers he was going to face. So far the Alabama commit has easily handled them and shown the discipline and patience to keep the defenders from countering back to the inside. Nick Saban and his staff will be able to play Leatherwood on the left or right side of the offensive line.

Jerry Jeudy
Jeudy let it be known that he was the nation’s top-ranked receiver. Defensive backs were falling over themselves trying to stay with the Alabama commit on Thursday. A lot of people have compared Jeudy to Alabama star Calvin Ridley because of their route running prowess and suddenness.

LaBryan Ray
Offensive linemen had a hard time containing Ray because of his strength and balance. He would shoot the inside gap and muscle the lineman out of the way before getting to the quarterback. Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, Ole Miss and Mississippi State are still Ray’s top five schools but the Crimson Tide seems to have an edge.

Dylan Moses
Lots of eyes were fixed on Moses all day to see how he plays at linebacker and he didn’t disappoint on Thursday. The Alabama commit was physical inside against the run and showed progress in coverage. Moses capped his day with a nice interception that he returned for a touchdown.
