Yeah and with the way all of our running backs are coming back next year, I highly doubt Akers wants to wait his turn.

Harris is great. Akers is better. Take your crimson glasses off and watch their film.

Sorry, I cant let this one slide.

First of all are all the recruiting services wearing crimson glasses also ? Because EVERY ONE of them have Harris ranked the No. 1 running back in the country.

3 of 4 of them have Harris not only as the no. 1 RB, but the no.1 PLAYER in the country.

And I have watched Harris film, and I have watched him play live. He is a monster. Hes huge, fast, physical, and he can make guys miss in a phone booth, or run them slap over. The pad level he runs with at his size is amazing.

No one is saying Akers is not a good RB, but Harris is on another level, and thats not just me saying that, but virtually every recruiting service there is agrees.

If we get Makers he won't play his first year. If we get Harris he will play IMO.

The way I look at it ?

If we get Akers you wouldnt be able to pick him out of a lineup of Bama RB's if you took the numbers off the jerseys.

Harris you could pick out of a lineup from the upper deck of the stadium.

Recruiting services are your back up in this discussion?

Blake Barnett was a 5-star.

Dashawn Hand was ranked above Myles Garrett.

Matt Elam was a 5-star.

Remember Tyler Love?

Gunner Kiel was the #1 ranked QB in the country over Jameis Winston. He's the backup QB at Cincinnati.

They are wrong all the damn time. I trust my own eyes way more than those clowns.

Exactly lol....he is no different than the other guys and they are only going to get better...the only reason I would want him is to keep him from another sec team.

No different than the other guys?

You do know he is ranked higher than every running back, sans Trent Richardson, that we have signed under Saban, right?.

Higher than Ingram, Lacy, Yeldon, Henry, Scarborough, Harris, Emmons and Jacobs.

All of them.

You keep mentioning BB, but if you recall even though BB was a five star player I never liked BB. I tried to tell everyone he was overrated. So, no, I dont base my opinion off of star ratings. QB's really dont belong in the conversation though because we all know that position is nearly impossible to project.

RB on the other hand is probably the easiest position to project, and every service agrees Harris is the best.

With that said I'm still not basing my opinion on the services. I've watched Harris play, and he has some tools that are impossible to teach... one of them being his physical tools. The kid is going to play somewhere between 225-235, and he moves like a dude who is 200#.

Think Todd G., LF, DH, AP, etc., etc.,... there is a reason that the once every 4-5 years or so huge athletic RB that comes along becomes a force in the league. They are bigger, faster, stronger than everyone on the field that is trying to tackle them.

I think Harris is the perfect fit for Bama system, and I think Bama has 3 guys capable of playing the Akers role right now, but until Bo becomes consistent Bama does not have the bulldozer they usually have.

All these things add up to Harris being the back that Bama needs in this class IMO.

There is going to be another 210-215 pound elite RB in next years class, and the season after next year etc., etc., but an elite RB with all the moves and speed that weighs in over 230 pounds is the diamond that IMO you are looking to get in recruiting when you get the chance.

Those guys do not come along very often.

Lets agree to disagree. I will get to watch Harris play at Bama to watch his progression, and you'll have to tune in weekly to watch OM to see how Akers is doing.

Unless one blows the doors off the other during college ball we wont know till the NFL draft though, but even then I feel comfortable betting right now that Harris name will be called before Akers.

Only time will tell. I'm rolling with Harris though, and luckily Harris is rolling with the Tide.

Well you just said the rankings dont matter so ? What gives ?

If you want to play that game though guess who is ranked even higher than Akers ?

NAJEE HARRIS !

I'm hoping that the week following Saturday's game with A&M brings us some more positive recruiting momentum. It's our biggest recruiting weekend of the year to this point.

No. I'm saying Akers is better than anyone we've had on our roster in years.

When he jumps ahead of Harris in the final rankings I hope you remember this post.

Hackenberg was a stud until that idiot James Franklin ruined him.

You can't cite crimson colored glasses when Akers attends your alma mater bruh. You're bound to have some bias towards him, conscious or not.
