Former Alabama defensive lineman A’Shawn Robinson appeared on Matt Moscona’s local radio show in Baton Rouge recently to let the folks in Red Stick know as well. Robinson has been in Baton Rouge training and preparing for the NFL Draft.

This time a week ago 2017 tight end Zech Byrd just received his first offer from Troy.

Fast forward seven days, and the 6-foot-6, 235 pound Byrd boasts offers from major Power 5 programs including Michigan, Florida and Ole Miss. Kentucky, Southern Miss and Toledo have also thrown their hats in the ring to land the Millbrook, Ala. product.

Byrd plays at the same high school -- Stanhope Elmore -- that former Tide All-American Dee Milliner played.

One source familiar with Byrd's skill set has lofty praise for the up-and-coming tight end.

"Thought he was a hooper at first," the source said. "His coach is old school and runs the ball 90 percent of the time. That's why he's not a four- or five-star. He works hard as hell."

Byrd will be making the trek up US-82 on Friday for an unofficial visit to Tuscaloosa. Expect more offers to come his way this spring and summer.
