Todd Harris, 4-star, Plaquemine, La.

Out of the recruits listed here, there may not be any player in the country that Stevens’ commitment to LSU affects more. For several months now, Harris has been pegged as a lock for the Tigers’ Class of 2017 defensive back haul.

The problem for Harris is now LSU have two safety commits in its 2017 class: Stevens and 4-star prospect Grant Delpit. Will the Tigers take three safeties? It’s not common for a team to take three safeties in any recruiting class, but the question is will Les Miles and his staff make an exception for Harris?

If not, things get interesting for Alabama and Harris. Before picking up an offer from the Crimson Tide on July 20, Harris said if that happened it would be a game-changer in his recruitment. Before that date, LSU and Ole Miss were on top for him. Alabama is now in the mix.

“Well, they’re winning national championships, so that pretty much says it all right there,” Harris said. “Nick Saban is a great coach, so you’re going somewhere with a great coaching staff and you’re not selling yourself short.

He is expected to make his commitment at the Under Armour All-America game in January.

Xavier McKinney, 4-star, Roswell, Ga.

You may recognize this name. McKinney was committed to Alabama until reopening his recruitment last month. His decision to de-commit from Alabama was surprising.

Two weeks before his decision to back off his pledge to the Crimson Tide, McKinney told SEC Country that he was 100 percent committed. So, what exactly happened? He said he just wanted to make sure he was making the right choice. His de-commitment was not a matter of the staff pushing him out of the door. Tide coaches want McKinney in this class, but now Alabama definitely is going to have some work to do if he is to rejoin.

Clemson and Florida were tied for No. 2 at the time of his de-commitment, but the Tigers likely hold the edge at this time. His teammate at Roswell High School, 4-star cornerback LeAnthony Williams, is committed to Clemson and his former teammate, Tre Lamar, is a freshman linebacker for the Tigers. Those two guys are always in the ears of McKinney.

If I were a betting man, I would say McKinney won’t be an Alabama commit once again.

No shite.

Speaking of Todd Harris, I just realized I never linked his profile and film on the first page:

Todd Harris would be a nice pickup. I wonder if LSU fans still think he is better than Stevens.

If he decides to come to Alabama you can bet your arse that opinion will be forgotten with the quickness.

Tom Loy just CB'd Jedrick Wills to Alabama.

I swear he's been on commitment watch for a month now.

I said the same thing to myself. It's been "anyday" for a while now.

Well we should be picking up another 5-star next Monday.

Devonta Smith is announcing that day.

I dont see how playing time will be hard for him other than Ben Davis, Rashaan Evans, Shaun Dion, and I would say Joshua McMillon just because he has been practicing in the inside. Who else is competing for a spot. He would have somewhat of a more easier path to playing time at Bama than most schools.

August tends to see a wave of commitments as prospects who want to focus on their final high school seasons erase the pressure and distraction of recruiting. Several prospects in the Midwest are candidates for August commitments, while others look to take their recruitment into the season.

Here are predictions on four prominent Midwesterners.

Jeff Thomas

The Situation: Thomas started out his recruitment like another former East St. Louis Rivals100 prospect, current Missouri defensive lineman Terry Beckner, in that he basically did not take an active role in the process and did not plan to decide on a college until National Signing Day. That changed in just the last few months, with Thomas making a few unofficial visits and a pre-season decision is now possible.

The Frontrunner: Alabama

Thomas and his East St. Louis teammates made their way to Alabama for a 7-on-7 camp in June and what I have heard is the Rivals100 prospect gave thought to making a commitment to the Crimson Tide. They remain the team to beat in this recruitment and the only school I could see him committing to before his senior season.

The Other Option: Missouri

If Thomas’ recruitment lasts beyond the summer, the chances for Missouri to be the ultimate recipient of his commitment greatly increase. Besides being close to home, they have several of his former teammates on the roster and recently offered one of his closest friends, quarterback Reyondous Estes.

But Don’t Count Out: Florida State

Florida State assistant coach Tim Brewster has made strong inroads at East St. Louis over the years and the Seminoles are bound to land one of the Flyers' top recruits in the near future. Will Thomas be the one to beat a path from East St. Louis to Tallahassee? It does not look likely, but Florida State is among his favorites and cannot be counted out.

The Najee Harris post basically said regardless of what you hear about "buzz" Harris is still 100% Bama.

As for the Q&A, its getting worse and worse, questions are same, retreaded questions from guys that seemingly read the site once a month. Only REAL info I saw that hasn't really been out there was Nasirildeen cannot commit at this time.
