This class seems so confusing to me.
I swear we are taking 38 kids

If we don't take any more than one, Parks would be my pick. We need a pass rusher in this class.

I watched his highlights and he reminded me of Alfy Hill. Which is a good thing

He's big already which typically means he will move to DE, but if he was taught technique and lost 5-10 pounds he could be a beast at Jack.

So we are looking at landing
Jarez Parks
Henry Ruggs
Devonta Smith
Jeff Thomas
Jerry Jeudy
Isaiah Wilson
Shaun Wade
Major Tennison
Jacoby Stevens
Labryan Ray
And who else?
What does it look like on Marvin Wilson and others?

Maybe since we've had so many transfers, we actually can backfill and it not hurt us for next year.

Add Conliffe and Wills to your list

Jack is less about technique and more about being able to do several things well IMO, perfect mold for Jack would be a Von Miller or in Bama's system (larger size guys who can cover and rush) Courtney Upshaw. End in a 3 man front is all about technique and upper body strength, to be a 3 or 5 tech you have to have the upper body to shed guys and technique to keep them off the rusher.
All that said Parks reminds me of a stronger Alfy Hill (that was a good comparison) In my opinion he'd be an end in the mold of Jon Allen.

How many is Bama taking this year? 30?
Posted on 7/26/16 at 9:06 am to Rizzy
17 commits and 14 other guys have at least been mentioned in the last 10 posts. Guess good schools always end up turning kids away, but seems like those 31 are "takes." May have a couple decommits in there I guess but the number crunch seems tight based on spots and wants.
I wish OSU could have 25 this year for sure

Yeah there is a 1 commit for sure that's not expected in this class in Aaron Sterling. Could be another as well.

I keep hearing 27-28 actually.

Smith now trending to Tennessee?
Butch Jones made a key hire over the weekend that could help him land one of the top recruits in the country.
Jones hired Ashley Smith, the sister of 4-star offensive tackle Trey Smith, to help in the recruiting office. Smith will work directly with Jones on a day-to-day basis.
Now I know fans are going to throw up their arms and scream and ask how something like this could happen. First off, she was qualified for the job. She was a manager for Tennessee’s women’s basketball team and had previously worked for the NCAA. She had several other offers but decided to stay with Tennessee, the school she graduated from.
It’s not a slam dunk that Smith, one of Alabama’s top targets on the offensive line, goes to Tennessee now, but this is definitely a big turn of events for him. He’s very close with his sister and her working with the team only helps the Vols’ chances of landing him.
Smith grew up a giant Alabama fan. He still remembers the first time he went to Bryant-Denny Stadium as a kindergartner, but with his sister now at Tennessee, that may be too much for Alabama to overcome.
This wouldn’t be the first time an SEC school hired a sibling of a top recruit. Just last year, Ole Miss hired Sean Patterson as its associate director of recruiting operations. He is the brother of 2016 top QB recruit Shea Patterson.

Webb names Alabama top school, but does it matter?
Mark Webb, a 4-star wide receiver from Archbishop Wood Catholic High School (Warminster, Penn.), told Rivals’ Adam Friedman that Alabama has leapfrogged Georgia for his top school. I do not think is a big deal at all.
Alabama’s priority wide receiver targets remains the same: Devonta Smith (Amite, La.), Jerry Jeudy (Pompano Beach, Fla.) and Henry Ruggs III (Montgomery, Ala.).
Webb visited Alabama this week, and I’m sure he loved his time in Tuscaloosa, but he’s made it clear that he wants to play alongside 5-star running back D’Andre Swift (Philadelphia), who is his first cousin. Webb told DawgNation’s Jeff Sentell at The Opening two weeks ago that there was a 100 percent chance that he plays with Swift in college. At this time, Georgia is the favorite to land Swift. Alabama is not a factor in Swift’s recruitment.
It should also be noted that Webb did not mention Alabama as being one of his top schools as of two weeks ago. He also said that if he was making a decision at that time, Georgia would clearly be the pick.
So, to recap, no, I don’t think Alabama lands Webb regardless of his top school choice at the moment.
