From lilsym, the resident "insider" on BOL, regarding McKinney:
Sounds like sour grapes to me, but what do I know? I'm no "insider."

Each year junior college transfers make an immediate impact on college football and even fill key starting roles for some of the nation’s top teams. The list of former JUCO transfer game-changers includes national champion and NFL MVP Cam Newton and college stars-turned top NFL Draft picks at the top of the rankings.
The 247Sports 2017 JUCO prospect ranking was recently expanded to 80-plus prospects and at the top of the list is Alabama commit Elliot Baker. The 6-foot-7, 295-pound offensive tackle prospect is looking to help lead City College of San Francisco to a second straight national championship and has the potential to step in and claim a tackle spot for the Crimson Tide in 2017.
The current top 10 includes nine four-star prospects and five of them have already made a college commitment, all to SEC programs.
Which of these JUCOs have a chance to step into college stardom in 2017? 247Sports analyst Clint Brewster breaks down five that he feels have the talent and potential situation to do just that, as well as a couple currently outside the top 10 that are capable of becoming household names
Prepare for Impact
No. 1: Elliot Baker, OT, City College of San Francisco (Alabama commit)
Impact Analysis: “Massive-framed offensive tackle that plays with an edge. Elliot looks like an Alabama offensive lineman with his size and ability to get out on the perimeter and block guys on the move. Baker plays with the toughness to seal the edge and he shows some good foot-agility in pass protection to stay in front of speed rushers. Real strong hands and plays with the toughness you like in the trenches. With the projected roster and offseason dismissal of JUCO transfer Charles Baldwin, Baker is a prime candidate to be a Day 1 starter for the Tide.” – Clint Brewster, 247Sports
No. 4: Stephen Guidry, WR, Hinds C.C. (LSU commit)
Impact Analysis: “A big-play, vertical-stretch wide receiver, Guidry can make an instant impact at LSU with the way he can go over the top of defensive backs and make a catch downfield. Guidry has the long speed to get behind secondaries and he has a huge catching radius. Very quarterback-friendly wide receiver with his height and length.” - Brewster
No. 5: Teair Tart-Spencer, DT, ASA College
Impact Analysis: “Spencer is a disruptive defensive lineman with a nice frame at 6-foot-4, 295-pounds. He has the tenacity to get up the field in a hurry. Spencer has the motor and toughness you look for on the defensive line and he can really get in passing lanes and obstruct the quarterback with his length. Spencer’s twitch off the ball, combined with his size and strength make him the nation’s top JUCO defensive tackle.” - Brewster
No. 6: Isaiah Buggs, DE, Mississippi Gulf Coast
Impact Analysis: “Buggs is a powerful force in the trenches with a Robert Nkmediche-type of body. He’s a leverage rusher that uses his hands and body to move opponents out of the way and penetrates the pocket. Buggs certainly has the versatility to play as a defensive tackle in a 4-3 scheme or play defensive end in a 3-4.” - Brewster
No. 7: Jeremy Patton, TE, Arizona Western (Arkansas commit)
Impact Analysis: “Arkansas has a strong tradition of churning out NFL tight ends and Patton has everything and more to be the next great one. Patton is a big, athletic pass-catcher that can create matchup problems with his 6-foot-6 frame. Patton can line up out wide and take on wide receiver roles or attach the offensive line. He also brings a lot to the table after catch with his ability to break tackles and make people miss.” - Brewster
Keep an eye on
No. 11: Andrew Van Ginkel, DE, Iowa Western C.C.
Impact Analysis: “Van Ginkel is a JUCO prospect to keep an eye on. He had nine sacks and 18 tackles for a loss at South Dakota as a freshman. Van Ginkel is a high-effort player with pass-rush skills and the ability to locate the ball and close. He can be moved around as a defensive end or outside linebacker to show several different looks. He’s an extremely tough and smart player with surprising athletic ability on the edge. Some have compared him to former South Dakota and current Atlanta Falcon Tyler Starr.” - Brewster
Impact Analysis: “After transferring from Wisconsin where he spent time at both quarterback and receiver, Gillins transferred to junior college to focus on quarterback. He’s still raw at the quarterback position but he’s got the athletic ability and arm talent to thrive in the right offense. Gillins is a dangerous runner and his escapability in the pocket could help make him a big-time player if he can continue to evolve as a downfield passer.” - Brewster

Gary Johnson is ranked #2 overall, but isn't listed in their "Prepare for Impact" section.

I'm waiting on 247 to drop their updated rankings for the 4-stars. Barton Simmons said it would be today.

In my head after that finebaum rant, I was thinking recruiting gold. Recruits will have security and comfort at Alabama as long as they do what they're supposed to do. There is no getting screwed over even if someone sets them up.

Jhavonte Dean is 6'2 180lbs and runs a 4.3.

I feel fairly confident that the Finebaum thing was staged. Those two have a pretty good relationship.

Jacoby Stevens still plans to announce this month, but doesn't look like we're in his top 3

I feel extremely confident it wasn't staged. Saban was taken by surprise by someone he thought he trusted. Perhaps Espn pushed Finebaum to ask tougher questions. Finebaum really let him have it to later on when he did some interviews, basically calling Saban a liar and a hypocrite who wanted to have things both ways.

I was thinking earlier. If you made up a class so far of just our c/o 2017 decommitments, where would it rank nationally?
Top 15?

We are DecommitU. Guess we aren't paying our players enough to stay on board.

Maybe the James Clemens trio will be able to sign with the Tide now.
