Stephen Guidry may be committed to LSU, but he’s apparently keeping all of his options on the table.
The nation’s top-rated junior college wide receiver revealed his top five schools on Monday morning, which included LSU cemented at the top.
Also making the cut was his previous leader, Alabama, as well as Auburn, Mississippi State and Georgia.
Guidry, a four-star prospect currently enrolled at Hinds Community College (Raymond, Miss.), previously played his high school football at Livonia (La.) High School. A Louisiana native, Guidry committed to the hometown Tigers after spending time with wide receivers coach Dameyune Craig during the Bayou Picnic last month.
The commitment came after making visits to both Alabama’s and LSU’s campus earlier that week.
Guidry made a surprise visit to Baton Rouge, La., to spend time with coach Les Miles after spending the earlier portion of the week at Alabama. After taking in Tuscaloosa, Ala., Guidry named the Crimson Tide his leading school.
Additionally, the 6-foot-4, 190-pounder has remained high on both Auburn and Mississippi State, and detailed why to SEC Country here.
Guidry was on LSU’s campus yet again on Friday evening along with a handful of other major targets and commitments in the 2017 class.
The top five doesn’t mean that the elite wide receiver is straying away from his pledge, only that he’s narrowing the field down of the schools he’s considering big picture. He’s very high on LSU, though these are the schools he would consider should something go awry.

We need a commitment this week. Last week kinda spoiled me.

The nation’s No. 1 player, 5-star Alabama commit Najee Harris was on Auburn’s campus Sunday afternoon for an unofficial visit, but Tide fans should not worry about this trip.
Here’s why:
He was in the area, making it easy to visit
It’s one thing if the California star decided to travel cross country to visit Auburn on his own dime, but that’s not the case. Harris was in Atlanta this weekend for a camp, which made the short car ride to Auburn an easy one. Ever since he committed to Alabama in April 2015, he’s made it clear that he still wants to visit other schools, and he’s done that. Harris has now visited Auburn, Southern California, UCLA, Washington and Ohio State, in addition to Alabama since committing. Nowadays, even when recruits commit to a school, they continue taking visits elsewhere.
Visited Alabama last week
There would be cause for concern if Harris was in the Southeast and only visited Auburn, but he didn’t. Harris visited Alabama last week for one of the team’s summer camps and stayed for multiple days. He got to interact with Crimson Tide commits and work out alongside them. The U.S. Army All-American told the Alabama staff that he will return to campus in July.
Remains 100 percent committed
Sometimes when commits talk with the media, they say they aren’t 100 percent committed to their school. That’s not the case with Harris. Every time he’s talked with the media, he maintains that his commitment to Alabama remains 100 percent. When he was on campus last week for camp, he once again told the staff that he remains solid with the Tide.
So, to recap, this trip to Auburn was nothing more than a car ride to a school he hasn’t seen before. If he ends up signing and playing for a school in the South, the only choice for him would be Alabama.

Alabama has been in the driver’s seat for several months for Aubrey Solomon, but that’s no longer the case.
Solomon, a four-star defensive tackle from Lee County High School (Leesburg, Ga.), told SEC Country that after this weekend’s trip to Georgia, no one leads for him. The Bulldogs did make a giant impression though.
“Georgia made me forget all about ‘Bama, to be honest,” Solomon said. “I just know way more people at Georgia, and some of them I’ve played against played with or seen in the past visits to there. It felt as if I was home.”
The nation’s No. 6 defensive tackle called this weekend’s trip to Athens the best recruiting visit he’s ever taken. Solomon said he got to hang out with several Bulldog defensive linemen Friday and Saturday. He immediately connected with them.
“They are my type of people,” Solomon said. “You can tell they all look out for each other. They know what’s expected from each other so they push one another. They’re good people and they clown around on each other but it’s all out of love, but the thing that’s the best is the older players take the younger ones under their wing right away and show them right from wrong.”
So how does that differ from what Solomon has seen at Alabama? Well, he can’t really answer that question.
“I wouldn’t necessarily know because at ‘Bama everyone is foreign to me where at Georgia, I know at least half the team,” Solomon said.
The 6-foot-3, 305-pounder is considered one of Alabama’s top defensive tackle targets. The Crimson Tide are also recruiting five-star Marvin Wilson (Bellaire, Texas), four-star Akial Byers (Fayetteville, Ark.) and junior college standout Isaiah Buggs (Ruston, La.) at the position.

The 2016 college football season is still almost three months away, but planning for the future never takes a break. FBS teams are hard at work trying to secure recruits for their 2017 rosters, and the summer is a key time to make connections and land commitments.
Only 11 of the 33 players listed by 247Sports as 5-star prospects have pledged to a school at this point, but several figure to come off the board this summer. The same goes for those at the 3- and 4-star level, players who aren't as highly regarded from a national standpoint but might be the key player that makes or breaks a team's 2017 recruiting class.
We've identified an uncommitted player that's considered one of the top recruiting targets for every Power Five conference team, as well as top independents BYU and Notre Dame, and note why he's important to each school (as well as who else wants him).

Alabama: Marvin Wilson
Position: Defensive tackle
Height, weight: 6'4", 329 lbs
Rank: 3rd
Alabama's defensive line depth in 2015 was the stuff of legend, the Crimson Tide laying claim to nine studs who were all 4- or 5-star prospects coming out of high school. But you can never have enough stars in the trenches, not when a good helping graduate or turn pro each season, so it's always wise to stock up.
The Tide signed four defensive linemen in the 2016 class, and one of their nine 2017 commitments is up front, but it's Marvin Wilson they really want. At his size, who wouldn't?
The top-rated defensive tackle in the country (and the No. 1 prospect from Texas), Wilson most recently visited Alabama late last month but has since visited Ole Miss and attended a camp at Oklahoma. He's received 26 offers, including from Florida State, LSU and Texas. He's originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, so the Tigers are among 'Bama's top competition for his talents.

Late Thursday evening, Markail Benton was asked about his college future. He went to bed genuinely uncertain.
Friday morning, the Phenix City, Alabama, 4-star linebacker woke up with his mind a little clearer and his psyche much more relaxed.
After weighing options—and reweighing options on multiple occasions—Benton announced his verbal commitment to Alabama early Friday afternoon in front of family, friends, teammates, mentors and colleagues at Central High School.
The commitment was another big one for the Crimson Tide, as Benton chose Alabama over offers from Auburn and Florida State. He is the 12th pledge in Alabama's 2017 class—which is ranked No. 2 nationally.
Benton, a standout at Central High School in Phenix City, called it one of the toughest decisions of his life, as all three schools on his list scored high marks on everything he was looking for in a program. When it was time to make a decision, he said he was solid with his choice.
"I'd be in the bed at night thinking, 'Oh yeah, I'm going to this school.' And then I'd wake up and say, 'I'm going here instead,'" Benton said. "It was a hard decision, but at the end of the day, I thought I made the best decision for me."
Alabama will get a versatile linebacker at 6'2" and 237 pounds. Benton is capable of plugging holes and making beelines to running backs on running plays and covering receivers and tight ends on passing downs.
Benton will join a class that already includes 4-star linebackers in VanDarius Cowan and Gary Johnson. The class also has 5-star offensive prospects in offensive tackle Alex Leatherwood and running back Najee Harris, the nation's top-ranked player.
Benton had 19 offers collectively, including LSU, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Clemson and Ole Miss. He narrowed his choices to a top three of Alabama, Auburn and Florida State on June 2.
As of Wednesday afternoon, Central head coach Jamey DuBose knew about as much as the general public regarding Benton's decision.
"With a lot of my guys, I know what they are going to say, but that's not the case with Markail," DuBose told the Ledger-Enquirer's Michael Niziolek. "He's kept it to himself."
When it was time on Friday, however, Benton was collected in his approach.
Prior to his decision, Benton spoke highly about the prestige of the Alabama coaching staff, which includes head coach Nick Saban, defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt and secondary coach Derrick Ansley, who led the charge in recruiting Benton.
"I know with them, I'll get really good coaching," Benton said. "It's just a good program with coaches who know how to win."
Benton continued: "Since I decided to commit, my phone's been blowing up [like] crazy. My Twitter, my Instagram, everything's been blowing up. Lately, I've had to turn my phone off just to think about where I wanted to go. Coaches have been trying to talk to me all week, but I haven't been dealing with it much. They all have been talking to my head coach."
With the decision now made, Benton delivered a message to the Alabama faithful: Expect a playmaker.
"They're getting a dog. You can't get any better than that," Benton said. "I'll be a good inside linebacker on first and second down and someone who likes to pass-rush on third down. I'll continue to work hard. There are lots of people you're competing against, so you've got to continue to get after it for the next level."

Georgia just got a CB for Monty Rice. fricking Kirby.

Rice is Bama's to get if they want him. However, if he wants to commit to Bama and the coaches tell him to hold off, he will be gone.
Rice and Allen could finish out this LB class for Bama. I just hope Bama doesn't tell Rice to hold off, while waiting to see where Moses and Beal go.

There's been chatter today that he may accelerate the process and go ahead and commit any day now. He's been a private for a long time now.

Shaun Wade visited today with his Mother. Unfortunately the visit was cut short due to a death in Wade's family.
