@AndrewJBone: Deonte Brown, OG from Austin HS in Decatur, Ala., commits to #Alabama. Has been a top Tide target for a while. @TideSports

I wonder what this means for Darius Whitfield. He's ranked as the #161 ranked player on Rivals and his brother is Josh Casher. We don't really need more Guards but it would suck to pass on that type of talent due to numbers.

We could recruit him as a dline. Pretty sure that is where UF is recruiting him.

With the way we've recruited OL the last couple years and this year, we'd better have the best OL in the country in a couple years. No excuses

I like Whitfield as a defensive lineman as well. He's fricking mean.

They just want to see him put on some weight and see how he carries it, if Whitfield doesn't commit to Bama after the OL/DL camp0s, I doubt he will get to IMO.

Agree completely. Our recruiting and evaluation (based on early info) has been otherworldly at OL. Now we'll likely sign at least 2 more OTs.

From BOL:

quote:

Brown becomes the second, and likely last guard to commit to the Tide for the 2016 recruiting cycle. He joins Chris Owens, the four-star guard, from Arlington Lamar (Texas) High School, and Jonah Williams, the four-star tackle, from Folsom (Calif.) High School, as the early pieces of what will be deep offensive line class. All three players average a .93 grade.

They also said we are looking to add at least two more tackles to this class.

Bo Davis visited Jeffrey Simmons yesterday. I don't want to get my hopes up for a Mississippi kid only to be disappointed. Again. He does look like a perfect fit at DE for us though.

Quote from Demetris Robertson:

quote:

"Me and my sister are probably going to go to the same school," Roberson said of his twin sister Shanetris. "My sister runs track. I think she's going to have plenty of options. She likes Georgia and she likes Auburn, too. If she decides she wants to go somewhere I'm going to have to take a hard look."

So we have a 5-star Athlete committed to us that feels this way and we can't have our Women's Track Coach offer his sister a scholarship?

Saban should have said to hell with it and offered her a scholly himself. Sounds like the womens track coach needs some counseling in this area.

Time to put DE Khalid Kareem from Michigan on commitment watch.

Will be interesting to see how our DE recruiting shakes out. We're in good shape with him, Janarius Robinson, and Jeffrey Simmons from MS just off the top of my head. All elite guys. And if Marlon D would transfer back to Carver, we'd have a solid shot.

Auburn hired his brother. I think that ship has sailed.
