Saw in that same thread someone talking about his film being sped up.

Not that it matters much, they are still after him...

I've never understood the "film being sped up" thing. He looks that much faster relative to the other players on the film whether the film is sped up or not.

Depends on the competition and if in comparison to another prospect.

He can be still be fast, but it muddles how fast exactly...

True. But I'd say that if he's not really that fast, then those guys he's playing against are glacially slow. Like "running with a refrigerator on their backs" slow.

If you understand film just watching the first couple of clips from Joshua Jacobs and you can tell he either rivals BJ Emmons at top RB or he possibly is the top RB in the class

No. Not just no, but hayul naw. I'm not sure everyone understands how good Emmons is. Dude is elite.

Yea that kid Jacobs has everything you want in a Rob he is fast, elusive, and willing to hit someone.

Well it is Oklahoma, not exactly crawling with D1 talent. He's obviously the best player on the field, which I think is easy enough to see without speeding up his film.

Staffs are gonna spot that immediately, so I really don't see why high school coaches do it. You might be able to fit a play or so more, but it's a trick that likely won't fool anyone.

Same thing happened to Eddie Jackson. That's Miami, FL area Eddie Jackson that is a Bama All-American. It happens sometimes.

The Eddie Jackson situation was nothing like Jacobs. Teams knew about Jackson but his grades were supposedly so bad that no one wanted to even bother recruiting him.

Even Lucky admitted the reason he wasn't ranked for so long on 247 was due to his grade situation.

Once it got out his grades had improved and he looked like he could qualify teams started to offer.

I mean, his older brother was 5-star Safety Demar Dorsey who signed with Michigan. Teams knew about Eddie well before he got offered.

Actually it's a little of both. He completely blew up his senior year and his film got out late in the process. He also had grade issues. That doesn't make this situation dissimilar.

There have been several. Missouri signed a guy last year that sort of blew up a bit at the end. It happens from time to time.

What the hell does Emmons being good have to do with Jacobs? We're not picking one or the other; the scenario is if the coaches are set on adding another RB in the class.

Also, we understand how good Emmons is and those of us who don't rely on star rankings (not you) didn't let the fact he was ranked low previously deter us from desiring him in this class.

For whatever reason it seems as if our staff cooled on him as he was expected to be in he class when Pruitt came back. He was also high on OM but who isn't.

Did anything come up from Jeffery Simmons? I know many think he is OM but was hoping this past weekend might help our cause with him? RTR
