I'm hearing some crazy stuff on Kongbo tonight. Stuff that doesn't pass the common sense test, such as "no longer has a commitable offer" from us and that we (Pruitt) landed someone else higher on our board yesterday.

I'm sure that will be laughed off in here, and I'm not sure I won't be joining you in the laughing. But we'll see, I guess. The person saying it is a household name in recruiting circles that is very reliable typically.

Take it for what it's worth. If some weird Kongbo rumors start popping up, there could be something to it.

I think you're onto something here:

Hank just posted that there have been rumors about Kongbo cancelling his OV that was scheduled for the 29th. He said they are working to confirm those rumors.

We have a JUCO O-Lineman Charles Baldwin who is awaiting clearance for enrollment. No academic issues they are just waiting for his final grades from ASA.

I have no idea who it could be. I've learned that stuff that seems strange to us on the surface is the norm in the Saban recruiting world. The stuff I saw was posted on a private message board (not even associated with the main recruiting sites) around 6:30 or so.

There's talk that Brian Burns is visiting next week. If so, that would make me one happy recruitnik. He's been the OLB I've REALLY hoped we'd get in on. His film is awesome. Apparently Pruitt is really high on him. Might be a good idea to keep an eye on him. Supposedly those two have a really good relationship, and Burns was considering us (albeit not #1) for a while now.

Yep looks like Burns is visiting next weekend:

Five-star prospect to now visit Alabama
quote:

Alabama now has a chance to pull off a late steal with one of the nation’s top prospects.

Brian Burns, a five-star defensive end from American Heritage High School (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.), will take an official visit to Alabama on Jan. 28, according to Andrew Bone of Rivals.com. The visit will last through Jan. 29. Burns will then visit Florida State before making his commitment on National Signing Day.

As of right now, Alabama trails Georgia, Florida State and Florida, but it certainly is good news for the Crimson Tide to get a prospect to take a late official visit because anything can happen when a recruit visits.

Alabama certainly has some catching up to do, but the Tide have taken a big step here with hosting Burns on campus.

Yea but you don't turn away kobongo for a kid that might be interested. We just got on him wouldn't be smart.

Has to be something else they don't even play the same position. Kid is 217 and Kobongo can play right now. I must say though kobongo not as big as I thought he would be standing by Saban

Y'all be killing 3714, but he brings the info we want and need, lol... BOL added that Bama may have decided to go in a different direction here (Kongbo) and this was right after Jos Not (a real wannabe insider) said Kongbo was a high priority. It sounds crazy as hell fo sho, so y'all better buckle up again, lol... Rtr

What you mean? I've never said anything to him. Just saying I don't think its a replacing kobongo with burns situation.

The recruit who might tale his place isn't Carter or Hall

Think bigger (size wise)

Pruitt gave Bama a lot better chance with him than before

If it's the massive Hawaiian WR who practices by catching pineapples, I say we take him and call it a day.
