9. 4-star Robert Washington
247Sports' Composite Ranking: No. 247 overall; No. 14 running back
High School: Southlake Christian Academy (Huntersville, North Carolina)
Notable Offers: Alabama, Michigan, North Carolina, Syracuse and TCU
Recruitment Update
This is a rapidly evolving situation, especially after offers arrived from Alabama, USC and LSU during a two-week stretch in late winter. Prior to those compelling new options, Robert Washington's father shared that Syracuse, UNC and TCU were three of his favorites during a conversation with Stephen Bailey of Syracuse.com.
Robert Washington Sr. also said his son has plans to visit at least Tuscaloosa and Chapel Hill before a commitment, which could come as early as April.
Washington Sr. told Bailey he views Alabama as "the mecca for running backs." Washington, who stands 5'10", 215 pounds, rushed for 5,762 yards and 66 scores during his first three high school seasons, per MaxPreps.
Best Fit: Alabama
Washington Sr. told Bailey that Nick Saban showered some lofty praise on his son, comparing him to Seattle Seahawks star Marshawn Lynch. Alabama's penchant for producing Heisman Trophy contenders and top-tier NFL draft picks at the position is appealing for any rusher.
UNC may put up the biggest fight for Washington before a decision, but Alabama looks like his eventual landing spot from our standpoint.

It's an unwritten rule: Every college football coach has to have a little salesman in him.
When he's talking about the positives of a program, he has to overemphasize. When he's discussing the parts of a program that need improvement, he's got to speak highly about the expectations for what's to come.
Every good coach does it for his program, and when we're talking about the SEC, every school has something that makes it attractive. There's a reason why the conference is arguably the most popular in college football.
Here are the 14 SEC schools, listed in alphabetical order, and some of the popular recruiting pitches that win over many of the nation's recruits.

Recruiting pitch: Kiss the rings
When titles are won, words aren't necessary.
Nick Saban is one of the few coaches in college football who can walk into a recruit's home wearing a national championship ring for every finger sans the thumb. He's the head coach of one of college football's most dominant programs, a team that seems to be in the mix for a national title every year he's around.
Saban's resume with the Crimson Tide is arguably is the best recruiting tool in the SEC. The program has impressively grabbed the nation's top-ranked recruiting class each year since 2011.
And even though Alabama hasn't won a title in the last two seasons, you can bet the precedent set continues to win over some of the best athletes in 2016—and future classes.

From who? I don't see it yet.

Alex Gleitman. He's an Ohio State writer.

Alex Gleitman knows about as much as my grandmother about what Wilson will do. But, yeah... he's coming to UA.

Hopefully Kaden Smith gets over his fondness for Stanford and follows in his sisters footsteps.

Shyheim Carter was at LSU again today. Wonder if Coach O got a hold of his handler.

I like Hockman.
Who was the last left handed QB to start a game for us? Shula?

Several backups and walkons since then, but he's the last left hand starter I can recall.

30 years without a left handed QB. Damn.

David Smith, 1988. Played the Sun Bowl with a jacked up knee and went crazy against Army in a 29-28 win. Derrick Thomas blocked 2 FGs I believe in that game also. Army's FB ran rough shod on us that day.

Recruiting junkie was annoying, went full gump way to often. Trey fapped himself into a coma after Jim got hired.
