From the 247 Auburn board

quote:
What if we had been the team in 2006-2007 searching for a HC and had been the ones to go to Miami and lure Nick Saban back to college? Let's forget that he's been the Bama coach since then because that wouldn't be on his record in this scenario. We have hired several assistants directly from there, so surely we can ignore his tenure there for a minute.
So, it's December of 2006 and we need a coach. Jacobs goes to Miami and lures Nick Saban to Auburn. Would we have seen the success he's seen at Bama? Would we be the ones with 3 rings since then? Would Bama even have one? Who knows who they would have gotten if not for Saban. They could be on their 3rd head coach since 2007 by now. Would we be talking about all of these players quitting on routes and not finishing plays? How different do you think things would be today?

NC State had 3 taken in the first in 2006-2007.

BJ Emmons had 289yds and 3tds as his team throttled their big rival on the road 54-21. Their conference is a split 3A/4A conference. 4A is the largest in our state. Freedom is a 3A while the team they played was 4A and both entered the game 5-1. He again did not see a lot of play in the 2nd half. Once they get a good lead they move to what they call a Stacked I formation.

I know I'm late on the Fromm commitment, other than the acknowledgement post above, but this young man deserves some gifs.
I can't be as graphic with the gifs anymore.

I think Cam Akers and Netori Johnson will be 5-stars after this season.

It’s an absolutely special year at quarterback in the state of Georgia in 2017 and Alabama landed one of the big-timers on Saturday in Warner Robins (Ga.) Houston County talent Jake Fromm.
“If there is a better quarterback than him I don’t want to play them,” Houston County coach Von Lassiter laughed.
The 6-foot-3, 220-pound Fromm has led his team to a 6-0 record thus far before heading to Tuscaloosa this weekend for the bye week. He is ranked by the 247Sports Composite as the nation’s No. 9 pro-style passer and No. 158 quarterback overall.
“The things Alabama has, all the facilities and top of the line everything, and on top of that, the tradition there, the history there, he feels like he fit there system and he’s their type of quarterback,” Lassiter said. “When you think of an Alabama quarterback it has him written all over it. He feels he has a real good chance to play there and have a really good career there.”
Great release, accurate, a good presence in the pocket, can run when needed and he has a strong arm. It looks like Fromm just flicks the ball downfield.
“One of the fastest releases I’ve ever seen,” Lassiter said.
“The thing that may separate him from everybody else is the intangibles, leadership, 4.0 GPA, highly intelligent kid, yes sir no sir kid, he’s a pleaser, wants to do right for his coaches and parents. Just a remarkable kid.”
Fromm is commit No. 8 for the Crimson Tide in the 2017 class, with all eight ranking four-stars or better by 247Sports or the 247Sports Composite. Early in the cycle, Alabama is up to No. 2 in the 247Sports Recruiting Rankings.
I think Cam Akers and Netori Johnson will be 5-stars after this season.

Free Content from the Clarion Ledger regarding the MS-AL All-Star Game
quote:
The Bernard Blackwell All-Star Football Classic is in its 67th year and will take place at Joseph Milner Stadium in Gulfport on Dec. 19 at 12 p.m. The South beat the North 48-14 last year and is looking to capture its fifth consecutive victory.
Below are the top story lines from the roster release.

Top position group
Mississippi's defensive lines are loaded with talent across the state this year. When it comes to the eight that were chosen for the Mississippi-Alabama game, it's truly a who's-who of the state's elite linemen. All four defensive linemen selected to the Dandy Dozen were selected to the MS-AL roster. Noxubee County's Jeffery Simmons, the No. 1 player in the Targeted 22, will be joined by four-star defensive tackles Benito Jones (Wayne County), Raekwon Davis (Meridian) and Kobe Jones (Starkville). Mississippi State commit Drelan Porter (South Panola), who leads Region 1-6A in sacks with seven, brings a unique set of skills as the state's top pass rusher. Bassfield's Jermone Johnson, Rosa Fort's Hal Northern, and D'Iberville's Jacquez Turner are also among the stacked group and have Division I potential.

Too deep
The rules for the selection process only allow two teams to send three players to the Mississippi-Alabama and Bernard Blackwell All-Star games. Meridian and Lafayette are bursting at the seams with talent, and that's reflected on the roster. The Wildcats will be represented in the secondary with Quincy Lenton and Zaire Jones as defensive backs. Davis, an Alabama commit who plays both ways for the Wildcats, will play on the defensive line. Lafayette's Tyrell Price, who has 1,251 yards rushing and 17 touchdowns, was chosen as a running back. Ole Miss offensive line commit Eli Johnson and linebacker Quin Jones will also represent the Commodores.
He might get a look at OT after all.

The first offer for Troxell, who grew up an Alabama fan, came from Auburn last October. Teammate Malik Miller is an Auburn commitment, and former teammate Kerryon Johnson is a freshman for the Tigers. So, has the duo been whispering in Troxell's ear about continuing the MA pipeline to the Plains?
"Every now and then they'll say a few things about it," Troxell said. "Kerryon was the main one. Malik's a little quieter about that stuff."
