Where are we with Devin White, and is he a RB or LB to us

Were looking at RB for him, as of now most believe he is headed to LSU.

Xavian Marks 2015 RB, "I have officially signed to play football and run track for The University of Alabama. "
He had a SEC offer from Miss St. and runs a 4.3. Little scat back type but good depth.

247 profile for Marks
hudl highlights
The big thing he is 2015 so he can provide some depth this year. Not sure if he'll be a counter or walk-on. Guessing he was brought in to replace that frosh walk-on that didn't work out for some reason

If he "signed" wouldn't he be a counter?
Posted on 7/21/15 at 11:36 am to Alabamya
unless he signed a track scholly.

I'm pretty sure he can't have a track scholarship and play football. Otherwise southern schools would have a hockey team full of 6'5 300+ lbs black guys on scholarship, who have never skated.

Nah the NCAA rules state if a player plays football while on another athletic scholarship for that college he counts against the football roster IIRC

That's correct. But we don't know what he signed. Even walk-ons sign paperwork

According to his dad, Xavian will be on football scholarship and his brother Torin (3* Safety) will walk-on

Brothers Xavian Marks and Torin Marks will join the Alabama football program, their father Clyde told AL.com on Tuesday. Clyde Marks said that Xavian, a 5-foot-8, 155-pound running back from Rosenberg, Texas, will be on football scholarship and will have a chance to run track. Torin, a 5-foot-11, 170-pound defensive back and wide receiver, will be a walk-on. Both graduated this year from George Ranch High School and both were three-star recruits. Torin is a year older as Xavian had a late birthday for his class.
"He's coming on a scholarship and as of right now, it's football, but I'm sure he probably will run track," Clyde said of Xavian. "He's a 10.3 (second) 100 (meter dash) kid. If they give him the opportunity to run, he probably will run track also."
Both players were committed to New Mexico State in January, but did not sign. Xavian signed with Alabama on Tuesday, Clyde Marks said. "We were already in ties with Alabama," Clyde Marks said. "We had other schools that we were in contact with. That's kind of how it happened. We had 'Bama, we had LSU, we had Arkansas and there were other schools. It was pretty much a decision that came to the end and they liked the school."

When you look at his film does he look like a 4.3 guy. He looks fast but it looks like he is jogging or he is playing against some really fast opponents.

I thought the same thing. He's fast but didn't look track star fast to me although there were a couple plays where he outran someone with an angle on him. Did appear to have good vision and quick feet.

He looks blazing fast to me. He blows by several defenders in the highlight video, including DBs who have the angle on him. Texas high school football too so we know it's not a bunch of scrubs he's playing against

I read he just posted a 10.39 100m in Texas at a track event.
That's fast.
That's fast.

Which was the 11th fastest 100m in high school this year. He's definitely fast.
