Rusty Mandell on Miller Forrestal:

quote:

I FREAKING love this kid. No way I see him staying a 3-star this season.

Kid is 6-5 BAD arse, Black Belt in Karate

Great ball skills, still 17 years old, can run, loves to compete.

He is a very tough matchup in the red zone. Just has moved to TE late last year.

He plays with 2018 QB Trevor Lawrence who can push for 5-star in two years. The TWO are very close.

Posted on the RB but several GA posters on 247 are saying that this kid is legit and can't believe that we got him. Also stated that GA didn't offer.

This class is filling up fast. 15 commits and a greyshirt so far. Bama needs some RBs in this class, any guess when a RB will commit?

Really don't hope we wait on D. White and keep our nose up his arse like we've done in previous years.

Devin White or Miles Sanders are the only two I can think of right now.

I'm starting to get the feeling that we may not even sign a RB in this class. If not, I hope we land Najee Harris and Cam Akers next year.

AUC notes

-85% confident David Marshall will be in the class
-AU is confident we land him & his fam wants him at AU.

-Jawon Pass will be at a 7 on 7 camp at AU NEXT WEEK
-Staff feels we are very much in play

-Bosse, Lamar, and Bituli top LB targets
-Lamar is an AU Clemson battle with AU having momentum

-Davidson not a given to AU
-Bama is a serious threat per multiple sources and he likes what Bama is saying
-concerned how long Boom will be at AU
-opponents are pitching him (and every D recruit on our board) that Boom is one and done
-AU responded saying Boom is happy at AU and recently bought a house at AU
-AU feels we land him but knows we have work to do

-AU continues to be a major factor with Derrick Brown
-AU feels family is on board but Brown's heart may be with UGA
-expected to drag on til Army Bowl

-AU and Bama likely leaders for 4* DT Michail Carter
-Called AU his best visit but confidence is growing at Bama
-Likely to visit AU again soon

He will also visit Auburn at that time again. Looks like it could be a battle of the bagmen.

Florence linebacker Erroll Thompson breaks down top 5, closes in on decision

The 6-foot-2, 240-pound Thompson announced his top five on Friday night. In no order, it was Mississippi State, Alabama, Louisville, Kentucky and Michigan. He has offers from all five schools.

"Really, I talked it over with my family and hand-picked all of them and found out what I really liked about each school and went from there, narrowing it down to five," Thompson said.

Thompson then broke down his finalists:

ALABAMA – "Alabama, I'd say tradition. They're a winning program and they develop players the quickest. That's what I like the most about them."

MISSISSIPPI STATE – "They have a really good program. They're on the rise. A big decision for mine (helps with) Beniquez Brown and Kivon Coman, two of my former high school teammates, being there.

LOUISVILLE – "Dee Smith, my old high school teammate from last year, is there. I visited up there last year with him and I liked everything I saw. I like the defense they run and I feel like I can fit in up there with those guys."

KENTUCKY – "Kentucky, that was one of my first schools to offer me. I took that into accountability because they were one of the first ones to have an eye out for me. New program and new facilities and I think they're on the rise."

MICHIGAN – "I've never been there, but Coach (Jim) Harbaugh, I know he's a great coach who came from the NFL, Coach (D.J.) Durkin, their defensive coordinator, really everything about Michigan, the way they're building their program and I feel like I can fit in there with those guys also."

Thompson, a three-star linebacker in the 247Sports composite, said he's planning on announcing his commitment not next week, but the week after, though he didn't have an official date set.

- 2017 4* ATH Malcolm Askew said he was very close to committing earlier in the week, which is pretty big considering he was thought to be a heavy Bama lean. He's still on campus though and hinting at a surprise...

From the UGA thread.

If Malcom Askew committed to them early, there is no way he would stay committed. FWIW the al.com writer Wesley Sinor CB'd him to UGA, but all of his other CBs are to Bama.
