247 did a "Combine like" height and weight measurement when players checked in for the Army game last month.
Lucky was very proud of it.

I'll add him to the first page tomorrow morning.
He's no Leo Lewis.

Who is? We need to get him on board.

Our biggest competition for Lewis is going to be State. They appear to have the inside track for the majority of the top ranked guys in Mississippi for this class sans Lewis. I'm hoping they don't try that "Dream Team" crap to try to land him.
Surprisingly Ole Miss seems to be on the outside looking in for most of the MS prospects in the state's deepest class in years.

That is interesting. I wonder why Miss St. would be the "it" school this year instead of OM. You would think Freeze had some momentum from the 2013 class.

We might as well try it. Tell him he is going to want to have his name remembered as a part of what could go down as a legendary front 7 if it lives up to the insane expectations.

I wonder who is going to be our "Who the frick is that?" commitment in this class.
Chris Williams held the title last year with Darius Paige in 2013 and Darren Lake in 2012.

Wow. Talk about a depressing thought
I think it will probably be a nose tackle since we struck out on Elam. Although we need a few more safeties this year, so that might be it.

Looking back at that 2011 defense:
The lockdown CBs: Dre K and Dee Milliner
Do we perhaps have that coming, especially on the 2015 team, with Eddie Jackson, TB, and Marlon Humphrey?
The big hitting, play making Safety: Mark Barron
Could Ronnie Clark (6'3" 215) or Hootie Jones (6'2" 220) develop into that role?
The underrated, immovable Nose Guard: Josh Chapman
Could perhaps Josh Frazier or Jarran Reed play that role in 2015?
The big Inside Linebacker: Dont'a Hightower (6'4" 270)
Could Reggie Ragland (6'2" 259) become that in 2015?
The penetrating, emotional Inside Linebacker: Nico Johnson
Could Reuben Foster become that in 2015?
The not a superstar, but reliable Sam: Jerrell Harris
Could Dillon Lee play that role?
The dominate edge rusher: Courtney Upshaw
Could Da'Shawn Hand, Rashaan Evans, or Christian Miller play that role?

It feels weird thinking about because of how awesome the class was, but imagine if we could have landed Tabor, Hampton, and Elam....

2014 is going to be a growing year 10-2 will probably be our record with hopefully winning the bowl game.
Assuming we figure out the qb this year, 2015 is going to be ridiculously good.

I see 11-2 as the floor. Simply because early in the year I think we'll see an edge to the younger guys, they won't get complacent and I think we're gonna get an OL lineup that punishes people with the three headed monster at RB. Florida, Ole Miss, LSU, Texas A&M, and Auburn could all be potential losses, but I love our chances against Florida and A&M. Ole Miss was the team I thought would beat us last year, but we shut them out.
I think the team will keep that edge, beat LSU, then lose the edge. They get a learning experience for 2015 where THEY DOMINATE EVERY SINGLE MOTHER frickER WHO STEPS ON THE GRIDIRON AGAINST THE GOAT
Sorry, went full Gump.
2015 is going to be insane though. If Collins wasn't a first rounder (he will be imo) he'd come back and make that defense return pretty much every fricking starter, assuming Reed starts at Nose in 2014, though if he does it won't be until midseason.

And here is the thing, 2010 and 2011...they were probably a notch below the other classes under Saban. Good classes, but not on the level the others are. I think the 12 class is gonna have similar results to the 09 class, the 13 class could have similar results to the 08 class, and the 14 class is gonna be the GOAT.

quote:cornwell is going to drive off top qbs in the next class. We should be looking at 2016. 2015 will be a depth kinda guy or some kind of dual threat qb to play on the scout team
Probably our QB.

Im still butthurt over that one. Just FYI I will probably be complaining about not getting him when we play Florida this year. There's always one.
Trends I've noticed with Bama recruiting:
-There is always the Cali recruit we think we are going to get but miss out on: Talamaivao last year. Town this year.
-The
commit. Last year was Holcombe for me. This year? Who knows? -The Mississippi recruit that gets away (also known as the Tony Hampton award winner) I think it will be Jamal Peters this year.
-The recruit we think should be in the bag, but doesn't come for whatever reason. Last year was Tyler Luatua. This year might be Jake Fruhmorgen or Dallas Warmack (if he decommits)
-The Calloway-Yeldon-Liner-Foster-Evans recruit: The one who appears to be AU bound only to shun them for us at the last minute. Hmm... Kerryon Johnson? Daron Payne?
-The "how did they manage that" recruit. Last year was Hand and Evans, year before that was Ashawn. Who might it be this year?
-The slow-played and regret recruit: Last year was Roc Thomas. This year I think will be Maurice Smitherman. I have a feeling he is going to be a good one.

I have a feeling it's gonna be CeCe Jefferson.

Daron Payne is someone I don't want to miss on, especially to Auburn. I really hope we get him and Settle both.
