Does he have to redshirt? 
Was watching some of his stuff and then found that. Got hyped for his potential.
I wonder if he's just gonna redshirt and that is that, or if he'll be looked at as a candidate for the starting job? Obviously if he showed up and dominated the offseason it doesn't matter if they want to redshirt him or not, but do you guys think the plan is to redshirt him, or see what he's got first?
Kiffin said his playbook was easy to learn...

It's pretty easy when Kiffin is reading the defense for you
I see Barnett redshirting unfortunately. If this were my decision I'd have him as our second string behind Cornwell (my other decision).

I think we'll be fine with Coker/Bateman/Cornwell/Barnett, all of them are talented.

I just want continuity. That was the biggest reason behind me wanting Coker to start in 2014 is so we can have a returning starter at qb. Now I'd like to see Cornwell make a run at it, maybe Bateman but not sure the arm strength is there.

I think Barnett redshirts. Coker starter for 2015. Barnett beats out Cornwell in 2016. Cornwell transfers after 2016

Yeah, I don't know who is better, but I wish Cornwell would get a little more respect. I think he legit could've been the top QB in his class. He was a 4 star because he missed that time when his mom was sick and because of his injury. JMO.

hes got a massive arm and had good mobility in HS (dont know what he looks like now with the multiple inuries). Barnett was better on the camp circuit, who knows who will end up the better qb. I do know that barnett needs to put on about 20 lbs or he is going to break in half the first time an sec DT gets to him. Cornwell has an nfl body right now

Cornwell was the #1 QB in his class at one point. A poor performance at the Elite 11 caused his stock to drop. Ironically, Barnett's rise was due to his Elite 11 performance.
I guess playing real live football counts less than camp settings these days.

Not upset about that. If a better guy wants that spot, I'd be glad to have it open.

For what it's worth I have much more faith in Barnett's ability to recruit for us than his ability to play quarterback for us.
He's a charismatic kid who knows how to lead but his mechanics are shite and who isn't physically ready for SEC football.
