Tyreek Hill looks electric for Okie State. Wish we could've landed him

Lol @ LSU

This is EXACTLY why you don't overreact to the opening weekend game against an OOC opponent

Oh yeah.....

I'm kind of enjoying it. I don't even know how much effort will go into trying to get people to look at things in the right perspective.

I wish we would have landed Fournette. Our rushing attack looked so damn anemic today without him

I am a little surprised that Drake didn't play much though. I mean, Yeldon/Henry did work. But I thought for sure Drake would get 7ish touches at least.

Drake was/is in the doghouse. That's why he didn't get carries.

I know, but the hype the past few weeks has been that he'd get used a lot.

I'm sure he'll get more work as the season progresses.

Everyone was convinced Sims and Coker would split reps as well. People on the interwebs, media included, don't know nearly as much as they think they do 95% of the time. Look at everyone who said our pass rush was much improved. Exceot for 2 or 3 pressures, it was still pretty much a non entity.

That's what I don't like about the sunshine pumpers. They pump and pump and pump, and if you don't pump with them, you're the enemy.

Then when things aren't exactly... hell anywhere near what they've been pumping, they never own up to anything they did previously.

Anyways, I hope that our pass rush improves. With the players we've signed it is kind of ridiculous to not be able to get pressure on the QB.

Just want to finish off by saying, I've been saying on this board that Sims was the #1. Seems Saban has little to no belief in Coker.

He was probably trying to let Coker down easily by claiming it was so close, just like Jimbo Fisher did with Jameis and Coker's competition.

I will say, I hope Blake progresses as a passer. He stares down his receivers and that has to change.

We got 3 sacks and some decent pressure relative to the number of quick passes and screens they threw.

Statistics like that tell lies. Trickett for the most part looked comfortable in the pocket. It ain't always about sacks, it's about affecting the area around the QB and making him uncomfortable.

We didn't do a good job of that. Trickett was looking like Joe Montana at times out there. We better improve in this area tremendously.

How shocked were you that Coker didn't get a snap till a minute was left? He didn't even get to pass the ball.

After all the stuff these people were saying who were watching practice, it was a great shock to me. I was also a bit shocked about Pettway. They said he was un-blockable and all of a sudden he is getting blocked with ease.

Oh and Reuben Foster was a bit disappointing. Missing your assignments due to youth is one thing. Completely whiffing on a kill shot and allowing Shell to extend another drive on 3rd down is another.

I think it has been mentioned before that these five star recruits feel like they're entitled to play & don't have to work for it. It's not always the case but at times it seems as if some of these five star guys & some of the good 4 star guys are not working hard enough to get off their blocks or are not making the necessary moves from the snap to avoid being blocked. For instance, as highly ranked as reuben foster was out of high school & now into his sophomore yr. he should be further along than he is. Almost as if with his abilities he's not putting in full effort. I've noticed he's not reading plays as quickly as Mosley did when he was a sophomore. In my opinion as of right now, no way should Reuben Foster leave after his junior season. I realize the freshman/sophomore LB's of today havn't played as much compared to freshman/sophomore LB's of the past but with Reuben's skills/athletic abilities etc. he should look better than what he's currently showing. Thank god we have DePriest still or we would really be in trouble.

Wasn't shocked. Before the game I believe I tweeted that Sims may go the distance. It seemed like that would be the case when Saban said the competition was still ongoing. He made it seem like Sims was gonna play yesterday until he messed up. Away from home, close game, O had rhythm.

Yeah, Reub is a great talent, but his tackling leaves something to be desired.

Same thing happened when AJ took over, he started and went the distance against Penn St, then the next week when the schedule eased up, Sims was given a chance to win the job.

Yeah, part of it was being away from BDS. Another part was Sims being in rhythm.

In Saban's post game he implied the battle isn't over, and Sims did the same thing.

The FAU and Southern Miss games may turn into a battle of "Who throws more completions to Amari Cooper"

Not really possible with just the line when thr ball is coming out in 2 seconds, only way to get pressure in those circumstances is to be unblocked. What we need comes back to the cbs, they have to play closer in and much more physically, jam the recievrs at the line and disrupt the timing. These kinds of offenses (wv, a&m, ok) are all about timing in the passing game. You get some consecutive incompletions and the wheels fall off, they can't run tempo on you. The other thing that needs to happen is sure tackling in space. You can't let a yard pass become an 8 yard play. Having depriest back coordinating things in the middle will help

In my opinion, Cyrus Jones & Bradley Sylve were never going to be the shut-down corners Bama needs for the DL to get pressure on the QB. I think the coaches for the most part have these two playing further off the line in hopes of not getting beat on a deep ball & hoping they'll slow the receivers down enough to run out of time in the game. I realize you all know this just saying until we get those physical guys like Eddie Jackson back to 100% & later Brown, Humphrey to get enough experience our pass rushing attack/pressure on the QB will be non-existent. Surely Jackson & Brown will have just enough by the A&M game for us to come away with the win.

We need a CB class of Minkah Fitzpatrick and Kendall Sheffield to follow Tony Brown and Marlon Humphrey to keep from running into another night like last night.
