He seems very pro-Bama lately. Wonder what Bone is hearing that makes him think differently.

He's still pretty open, IIRC the UK picks came from an early visit. Plus they've got a lot of OL committed.

UGA is out because they are landing someone Friday and pulled ahead for Pat Allen.

He wants to play in the SEC among anything else. Acquaintances with Kief, Warmack, and Mehki. Prince and Burrell are coming in too, so it should become clear who the other OT target is with Richmond.

Bone did say yesterday he hasn't talked with Warmack in 2 weeks, so there is a disconnect of info.

nah, just put him on a diet and he wont grow. its like not watering your plants

No joke, I tried this once while house sitting for a professor. He and his wife had this detailed watering plan for their house plants. Told my wife, frick that, they just won't grow much. Anyway, they started to die, I panicked and thought I could save them by watering them a ton and then taking them outside to get more sun. Apparently that is not how that shite works.

Auburn's Latest Run of Commits Is Nice, but Alabama Is Still King of Recruiting

It was "two for Tuesday" on the Plains.

While the local rock stations were cranking out back-to-back hits from the same artist, Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn was busy reeling in two big commitments over intrastate rival Alabama.

Tyler Carr, a 4-star prospect, got the morning started off right for the Tigers, committing at his high school in Gadsden, Alabama, over the Crimson Tide, according to Keith Niebuhr of Auburn Undercover.

“I've always kind of gone with my gut feeling. And my gut feeling kind of just led me to Auburn," Carr told Niebuhr. "They’re both great programs, and at the end of the day I had to follow my gut, and it was telling me to go to Auburn.”

Not to be outdone, Jalen Harris—a 3-star prospect from St. James School in Montgomery, Alabama—also chose the Tigers over the Crimson Tide, a program he grew up a fan of, according to Niebuhr. The 6'5" 244-pounder has a big frame and good hands, and he will be a tremendous weapon in Malzahn's hurry-up, no-huddle offense.

The big day brought Auburn up to 17 total pledges in the class of 2015 and all the way up to the No. 5 spot in 247Sports' latest team recruiting rankings.

Four spots ahead of the Tigers, though, are the Alabama Crimson Tide. That won't change anytime soon.

Head coach Nick Saban has 19 total commits in next year's class and a commanding lead on Texas A&M and the rest of the college football world in the quest to claim a fifth straight recruiting national championship.

That won't change.

Former Tennessee head coach Derek Dooley said it best prior to his team's game with the Crimson Tide in 2012.

"They draft, we recruit," he said, according to Andrew Gribble of AL.com. "And they get the first 25 picks of the draft."

Now, that's not entirely accurate, of course. Some prospects who are considering the Crimson Tide will sign elsewhere.

But the recruiting prowess of Saban and his staff coupled with the success Alabama has had in the NFL draft—41 picks over the last six years, according to Michael Casagrande of AL.com—will prevent Auburn or any team from knocking Alabama off its recruiting throne.

Besides, if any coach in America can close strong, it's Saban and the Crimson Tide.

The Tide famously flipped one-time Auburn commit T.J. Yeldon shortly before Christmas in 2011 and then followed that up the next year by signing one-time Auburn commit and Auburn High School linebacker Reuben Foster. This past recruiting season, the Crimson Tide again found success in enemy territory, signing 5-star linebacker Rashaan Evans out of Auburn High School.

Could that happen again? It has happened each of the last three years, so at least one high-profile flip should be expected.

Unless Saban, offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin, defensive coordinator Kirby Smart and the rest of that staff forget how to recruit, Auburn isn't going to knock the Tide off its perch as the king of college football recruiting.

Nobody will.

Predicting the Top 25 College Football Programs of the Next 10 Years

quote:

1. Alabama Crimson Tide

Average final AP ranking (2009-2013): Fourth

Average recruiting class ranking (2010-2014): Second

Coaching stability: Solid

It shouldn't come as much of a surprise that Alabama tops our list of the best programs over the next 10 years. The Crimson Tide have been at or near the pinnacle for most of the past decade, and there's no sign that's going to change anytime soon.

Nick Saban welcomes his fourth consecutive No. 1 recruiting class, bolstered by six 5-star prospects, while the existing roster remains jam-packed with so much talent he almost doesn't know what to do with it all. The Crimson Tide might have too much talent, if that's possible, but Saban still manages to get the best 22 on the field each game and will always be in the mix for national championships.

A new massive contract extension has Saban locked up until 2022, though what will really matter is if the challenge to keep Alabama on top is enough to make him stick around. Gaining a 2015 commitment from Blake Barnett, a 4-star dual-threat quarterback who chose 'Bama over Oregon, is proof that Saban is adaptable to the changes in the game and plans on keeping the Tide in the mix for a long time.

Power Ranking the Top 10 Pass-Rushers in 2015 Recruiting Class

8. LB Malik Jefferson (Mesquite, Texas)

School: Poteet High School

Size: 6'2", 225 pounds

247Sports Composite Ranking: No. 1 outside linebacker

College Status: Uncommitted (offers include Texas A&M, Baylor, Alabama, Oklahoma and Texas)

Pass-Rushing Resume

Malik Jefferson, an all-around menace at linebacker, posted a career-high 12 sacks in 2013. He's tallied 188 tackles and 19 sacks during the past two seasons.

How He Does Damage

Jefferson can flip a switch once he finds a crack in protection, storming through with explosive straight-line speed. He maintains outstanding pad level during his approach and keeps his shoulders square upon contact.

Defenses can disguise a blitz and turn him loose through any gap, especially as Jefferson adds to his physical frame. He delivers devastating hits, creating opportunities for forced fumbles when he approaches from a passer's blind side.

6. DE Byron Cowart (Seffner, Florida)

School: Armwood High School

Size: 6'4", 250 pounds

247Sports Composite Ranking: No. 2 strong-side defensive end

Pass-Rushing Resume

Byron Cowart collected 13 sacks during his junior season, tallying 72 tackles. He returned two fumbles for touchdowns.

How He Does Damage

Cowart, clocked at 4.60 seconds in the 40-yard dash, is a tough matchup for any offensive lineman. He's built like a tank and doesn't need to rely on his speed to break through into the pocket, though it certainly helps.

Still developing as a pure pass-rusher, he plays like a linebacker cutting across the field. His potential will increase once he develops an array of moves.

DE CeCe Jefferson (Glen Saint Mary, Florida)

School: Baker County Senior High School

Size: 6'2", 250 pounds

247Sports Composite Ranking: No. 1 strong-side defensive end

College Status: Uncommitted (offers include Florida, Florida State, Alabama, Auburn and USC)

Pass-Rushing Resume

CeCe Jefferson led a playoff charge with 17.5 sacks and 68 tackles as a junior, per MaxPreps. He totaled 15 sacks in 2012.

How He Does Damage

Jefferson is an absolute bulldog in the trenches. He beats blockers to the ball with tenacious bull-rushing skills but also implements a slew of finesse moves that highlight his athleticism.

His skill set should allow him to be a versatile defensive cog at the next level, where he can do damage along the interior or off the offensive tackle's outside shoulder.

The Opening 2014: Predicting Landing Spots for the Top 10 Uncommitted Recruits

LB Malik Jefferson (Mesquite, Texas)
Credit: 247Sports
School: Poteet High School

Size: 6'2", 225 pounds

247Sports Composite Ranking: No. 1 outside linebacker

Recruitment Update

Malik Jefferson, who tallied 188 tackles and 19 sacks during the past two seasons, is understandably a top target among Lone Star State contenders. Baylor, Texas and Texas A&M aim to keep him on his home turf at the next level.

Oklahoma is attempting to lure him north, while UCLA and Stanford present West Coast options. Ohio State and Alabama could add him to talent-laden linebacker groups, but earlier opportunities for playing time may be found elsewhere.

Predicted Destination: Texas A&M

Jefferson will follow fellow Texas 5-stars Daylon Mack (defensive tackle), Kyler Murray (quarterback) and DaMarkus Lodge (wide receiver) to College Station. He's taken notice of a class that commands national attention.

"It would be great to be a part of it," Jefferson told Taylor Hamm of 247Sports on June 19. "I'm happy for these guys but I'm not ready to make my decision yet. I hope everybody respects that."

When his assessment of nationwide options concludes, expect the Aggies to stand above the rest.

The Opening 2014: Predicting Landing Spots for the Top 10 Uncommitted Recruits

DT Trent Thompson (Albany, Georgia)
Credit: 247Sports
School: Westover High School

Size: 6'4", 292 pounds

247Sports Composite Ranking: No. 1 defensive tackle

Recruitment Update

Trent Thompson has developed into one of the most dominant high school defensive linemen of this decade, securing 148 tackles and 17 sacks since 2012. Georgia has pushed hard for a commitment since his days as an underclassman but hasn't managed to seal the deal yet.

The Bulldogs hope to avoid viewing him as an opponent for years to come, especially given Thompson's visits to Auburn and Alabama. Clemson has claimed its share of Peach State prospects under head coach Dabo Swinney and now looks to swipe away the crown jewel of this Georgia class.

Thompson also took a trip to USC in late June, where former Bulldogs defensive line coach Chris Wilson now works in the same position.

Predicted Destination: Georgia

Thompson has spent substantial time surveying his options beyond state borders, but he'll end up in Athens after all. This recruitment has the potential to last all the way through signing day, so don't expect the Bulldogs to bag him soon.

His rapport with the Georgia coaching staff could make the difference, particularly the way head coach Mark Richt has relentlessly pursued Thompson since the early stages of the process.

RB Jacques Patrick (Orlando, Florida)
Credit: 247Sports
School: Timber Creek High School

Size: 6'1.5", 220 pounds

247Sports Composite Ranking: No. 2 running back

Recruitment Update

Premier Florida programs are flocking to Jacques Patrick, who has 5,385 yards and 67 scores on the ground during his high school career. Florida, Florida State and Miami are in the hunt.

Notre Dame, Michigan and Oregon are options elsewhere. Alabama will also be in the mix for an official visit.

Predicted Destination: Florida

After losing 5-star running back Dalvin Cook to Florida State during late stages of the 2014 recruiting cycle, the Gators will claim a key commitment. First-year offensive coordinator Kurt Roper has already assured Patrick that he'll play a pivotal role in the team's offensive scheme.

“I talked to Coach Roper a few times now,” Patrick told Andrew Spivey of GatorCountry.com. “He showed me some things that they are going to run and he showed me how I could fit into his offense. He broke it down to show me how there was a need for me at Florida.”

I was thinking FSU instead of UF.
