TS, I am with you on Sills, could be for slightly different reasons though.
I have not bought into the dual-threat stuff yet, and say what you will, but I dont like the idea.
Sills would be like a Gmac QB commit, except he will likely never see the field in a starting capacity. I dont want to give the impression to Eason, or any other elite QB talent for next year that they are required to be mobile to start in our offense.
We're now recruiting the same guys at QB that frickin Orgeon recruits, I dont like that one bit.

Not 15' recruiting related but nice summer pass skels report from BOL regarding mostly Coker & teammate leadership. LINK
quote:
I normally don't post much unless I have something solid to add. Here is a brief report from someone who knows regarding summer pass skels. Some of you already know some of this but there is a bit of new info. First, Amari is leading, mostly by his hard work ethic, but now also verbally. DeAndrew is also leading. The staff would love for Christion Jones to become more of a leader. This is not to say that he is misbehaving or anything, just that he is a senior and with so many young receivers they would like to see him step up. Offensively, Blake Sims also leading. Sims is an exceptional kid. Works his tail off, amazing team guy, never complains, always up beat. And he is there for Coker with answers on terminology, reads, player info, etc. You cannot help but pull for a guy like this.
Coker did indeed come into pass skel workouts pretty tight. It was obvious he has a big arm but his accuracy early on was not what everyone wanted to see. As he has settled into the routine, learned the receivers, etc., things are picking up nicely. The comment I got was the potential is there to be the guy everyone is raving about, but there is an incredible amount of pressure on him, which ramps up with every Jimbo/media gushing comment about him. My source stated that he wished the media and draft "gurus" would quit annointing the guy as a first round pick and just let him be. Needless to say, it is going to be hard for him to live up to the expectations out there.
With all that said the opinion of my source is that Coker will be the starter and that we would see a dynamic in first few games similar to the AJ/Sims battle in 2011. My guy loves Blake, actually wishes he could develop into a top passer and win the job, but feels Coker is clearly the guy. He stated that he hopes we at least have a short yardage/goal line package for him to run.
Other points are that the secondary is much improved due to experience and knowing the schemes better. He particularly mentioned Geno as one to watch. The young receivers are special and it will be interesting to see which ones break into the rotation.

The school he started is nothing like Evangel Christian, Evangel Christian does little things like hire TEACHERS. He left (FIRED) a real school in Delaware (Red Lion) who wanted him gone for ethics reasons, and took all his players to Maryland where he started the new school basically in his garage. They have NO teachers, just coaches. The players take online classes, and the school is nothing but a sham for recruited players to easily get qualified through BS. Comparing it to Evangel Christian is a joke.

I don't have a problem recruiting dual threat QBs as long as they are excellent passers. We could have a dual threat QB starting for us without changing a single thing about our offense. Look at what Russell Wilson did at Wisconsin and that's a program with a long record of pocket passers and traditional running game.
And I'm sure Eason understands the landscape. Pretty much every school he's looking at has signed a dual threat QB in recent years.

Ive been telling myself this, but it just doesnt feel right still. I know blake sims was converted, but it may be the lack of success with that project that has something to do with it. Id rather stick with strict pocket passers that are just pure athletes.

Like I said, I don't know the details.
I used Evangel due to their recruiting of players mainly because they are the only high school that I know of that does it.
My comparison had nothing to do with academics.
It sounds like you know more about the situation. Spill the beans.

Nobody will play them, the players are recruited from all over the northeast, and the school only offers online courses. The school is complete BS, just a sham for recruited football players. He plays so few games because no one plays his father's "school" for ethical reasons.

Jalen Harris said Coach Saban told him he will need to commit soon if he wants to be apart of this class. Saban told him we already have 20 commits and we plan on taking 25. We must have a couple of silents.

I wonder who is silently committed. I hope it's not Tyler Carr or I'm going to be pissed.

On Ricky DeBerry's twitter page he has a nice Alabama background up. I'm not saying he has committed or anything but that has to be a good sign.

Is Tony Brown running in the track championships this weekend?

@AndrewJBone: #Rivals100 QB Blake Barnett tells me that he will likely make a decision within the month after spending three days at #Alabama.

The 2 standouts currently at camp are Anfernee Jennings and OL Brandon Kennedy

I don't think so. Didn't see him on the heat sheet for 110m hurdles and know he wasn't on the 4x100 relay team

good. I want brown concentrating on football.

James Lockhart says Alabama currently has the edge. He will visit A&M on Moday. He also says he may visit again in July which will prolong his decision.

Barnett started following some Bama people. Mom is following a lot more than him.

running of any kind will keep him in shape. We got him and Hump because Bama promised to allow them to do both sports. It is what it is
