At 6'1, 212 pounds, Desherrius Flowers is already a sight to see coming out of the backfield. Throw in the fact that he does it at a reported 4.50 speed, and you have yourself a very desirable running back -- more precisely, a 4-star, 4th among all at his position in the 2015 class running back, that is ranked 54th nationally among all players.

The story is largely the same when comparing Flowers to players from his home state of Alabama, where he ranks fourth in the Yellowhammer State.

Although Flowers has only one reported offer as of May 2014, it does come courtesy of Alabama, which says plenty about his ability in itself.


There's a lot to like about Flowers' game. The first thing that sticks out is his size. Flowers is a big player, and he runs big, getting behind his pads to deliver the blow when he sees contact coming.

Flowers has good balance and on some runs shows good vision as well. And for his size, he accelerates very well. He also has the ability to catch the football -- something that is often a question for bigger backs.

He does not, however, have great elusiveness. Flowers is at his best when he can make a man miss slightly, then use his power to get through the tackle attempt.

Flowers has the size to be an effective pass blocker in college, but that obviously isn't something most will put on a highlight tape.

I see Flowers as a no-nonsense runner who will effectively gain positive yards repeatedly in college, keeping his team in good down and distance. He is capable of carrying a heavy workload
