It’s not the right call because it’s not in line with what dozens of other players/programs have been allowed to do(including Auburn).
I don’t think any of the cases like Chambliss or the Texas A&M guy are legal precedent. All of this was filed in State Court
If you wanna make the argument that go figure we got the only Judge in America that is trying to stabilize college sports instead of tear it down, then I won’t argue

I get the feeling this is just one step in something that will come together quickly to ask ALSC for emergency relief citing the judge's lack of TRO until ALSC hears the case.

I think that is why UA's statement was so tepid. They're operating in a more political space now in their minds. My view is all law is politics and laws can change or be interpreted differently however they need to be to suit prevailing political interests. There is a prevailing political interest to protect the human resource assets of billion-dollar sports franchises but there is not prevailing political interest in protecting a foreign professional league's assets. That is why the heightened contradiction within the system will stand despite all sense. The only thing that matters is a squatting slav or frog coming to the US is an inflow commercial value but colleges competing for the back bench and developmental leagues of the big 3 sports is hostile to existing capital interests. Being a judge at the higher echelons is mostly a matter of being able to churn out tortured logic to arrive where the prevailing political will lies.

Granting someone eligibility is such an inconsequential thing in the grand scheme of things and white knighting for the ncaa is such a power trip fascist judge type thing for him to do. “Oh let me be the last bastion of amatuer athleticism and prevent this 22 year old from playing basketball while nine 27 year old motherfrickers from Slovenia take Illinois to the final four.
Bingo, I’m so glad we beat them.

Footage of the Rant if Bediako gets granted eligibility for the rest of the year anyway:

Pruet should be voted out with a quickness.

I think he’s safe for another cycle because his seat is up this year and nobody ran against him.

Give players 5 years to play 4 starting at age 18.
Maybe make it 19. There's plenty of people with late birthdays it other reasons that graduate high school at 19. Brandon Miller was one of them (though obviously he didn't need 4 seasons).

And on the same day the Alabama Supreme Court denied Charles Bediako, LSU announced the signing of a 23 year old player from Australia who had played in their professional league. I still don’t understand how anyone can possibly compare the situations and find enough difference to allow one and not the other. From the get-go, I have not been enthusiastic about Bediako attempting this. I feel like he had his chance in college and should be declared ineligible. But at the same time, so should every one of these overseas players that are past college age and have played in a league that is considered professional in their country. I don’t care if it’s the Mongolian national team, if it’s pro, it’s pro. The concept of amateur athletics is not only dead and buried in the US, but we’re going out of our way to shite on its grave.

They haven’t made a ruling yet. It’s just dildo head Pruet, the local judge who denied him the first time.
