I think Bama wins by 10. Misery has played a very weak schedule so far.

Eli Drinkwitz has shown he struggles against ranked teams. He is a decent but not great coach.

Bama is playing with more and more confidence. There's no way to "measure" that but you can sense it and see it with your own eyes.

I'm thinking the staff has challenged the defense to stop or limit Hardy from getting over 100 yds rushing. I think they do it.

The Bama offensive line has found a way to gel and move the sticks. They've been actually good (not perfect but good) at giving Ty time to throw and when they do that, he's been excellent.

The return of Jam Miller cannot be underestimated in terms of what he brings to the offense (experience and physicality). He's running hard and punishing defenses.

So, yeah, I think Bama wins this one by 10 (maybe more).

Ty doesn't need much time thankfully. He gets in trouble trying to extend plays, not standing in the pocket paralyzed by indecision. When someone is open he gets the ball out so fast that the pass protection just needs to be adequate.

I’m wondering what gotcha zone coverages Mizzou pulls out with an extra week to prep. I feel like confusing Ty is the best route to causing this offense to go haywire.

Honestly I don’t think the models can predict games like this very well.

Missouri just doesn’t have many meaningful data points to compare them against a baseline (SC with injured QB and Kansas).

Meanwhile Bama has a ton of tough games to evaluate but has been all over the place (FSU disaster, UGA and giving up 32 yards over three quarters to Vandy).

When one team is untested and the other is inconsistent that’s not really a great scenario for an algorithm to make sense of anything.

What I know:
-Their RB is electric and probably the best we’ll see all year
-their QB is 76% on the year but only has a 163 rtg against bad defenses
-their efficiency run defense has been insanely good and is #1 in the country (1.6YPC) and is holding teams 60% below their season average
-SEC teams win >80% of their home games
-only a handful of SEC teams have ever beaten 3 consecutive top 25 teams like we’re trying to do

This isn’t gonna be easy.

A lot of non-football factors are working against Alabama too. Mizzou bye week, better health, game sandwiched between revenge and rivalry games.

We are going to find out if we have a contender or pretender this weekend. A contender blocks all that out and prepares well enough to withstand those factors working against them.

The cfb nerds guy admitted as much. Their model has Missouri winning by 10.

But they admitted that Missouri is basically a complete unknown
