Per twitter, ESPNs Adam Rittenberg is now saying UNLV is not going after Aranda anymore. May go back and open talks with Arroyo again.

I knew UNLV wasn't getting close to th 2.5 he is making now. They just need to get another HS coach again for 600k

Dave Aranda is not Alabama's problem at LSU, by a long shot. Joe Brady is the reason LSU beat Alabama and every other good team this year.

No. Our defense is the reason why we lost.

Chip Long and Notre Dame part ways. Does anybody know why?

Didn't Saban try to poach him away from ND the last two times we were looking for a new OC?

Supposedly Long is a candidate for a HC position, but I don't know where.

Because Long is a very good pro style OC. Saban was pursuing him back when we were still pro style and I think it was when we ran Nussmoron off. If Saban is all in on the spread/RPO concepts like he appears to be, I don't think Long would be so high on his list.

Our problem is Pete Golding. If we have a competent defense we are in the playoff.

Long later commented that he and Saban "just talked ball" cause CNS knew about his committment to ND.

The overall point I'm trying to make here is that Dave Aranda is not the reason LSU was so dominant this year, it was their new-found success on offense due to bringing Joe Brady on staff.

Yes, clearly I'm aware that our defense sucked this year and Golding is terrible.

Fair point, but I still would be happy if Aranda would take his talents elsewhere (either to Bama or outside the SEC).

I thought, besides the 2,5 million salary, he stuck to LSU cause he figured Orgeron would get fired sooner rather than later and he could take over as HC. Same for famed DB coach Corey Raymond: he figured he could then become LSU's next DC.
But coach O isn't going anywhere for now so maybe these guys will get more itchy to move on? (wishful thinking!)

I don't think Aranda wants to be a head coach anytime soon if ever. There are places he could go that would pay him more that are better places to live like A&M and Texas. But, he's stayed at LSU. Plus, now it appears we're going through a phase where every competent OC is getting a shot as a head coach before any DC.

So now that the recruiting class is in the fold, do heads start to roll on the defensive side?

Actually, there might be a good chance that we might see 1 to 2 coaches leaving. I'm praying Bo Davis come back and. I know we will keep sunseri, Scott but not sure about Baker or golding

If we want a realistic name as DC and an upgrade as well then why not invite Derrick Ansley to come home? An Alabama boy with a University degree to boot. He knows the system, certainly knows the head coach and has experience oozing out of his resume these days. He coached 6 or 7 All-American DBs during his stay as DB coach. Make him an offer he can't refuse and let him feel the Crimson love.

And Tennessee gets to go shopping for a new DC. That's not a bad thing either.
