No it's because Tua is a liability in practice. Similar to BB8
Right, so is that why BB8 started the first game last year?
I don't really want you to try to answer this, because your logic is always all over the place.
Basically, I'm just saying, "bullshite."
Jalen is starting because he's experienced, and he hasn't been terrible. Tua ISN'T starting because he's a freshman, and no sane coach will trot out a freshman on a NC caliber team when they have a guy that they think can do well enough not to mess it up. Turns out, it has cost us. I still don't know if the risks of a freshman would have outweighed the rewards, but at this point in the season, I don't think there would be anything to lose, if the offense struggles again.

No I’ll go ahead and answer. He is a liability at practice with turnovers. He won’t start because of that and it’s that simple. BB8 and Jalen were the same last year and who came out first doesn’t matter because they were both going to play. Call bull shite all you want, you hate being wrong.

Well now, why did you have to go there, Boz? I ask because you were wrong about the quarterback race last year. You said the depth chart coming into the first game was Bateman, Barnett, and Hurts.
edit: oh yeah, and I said early this year that Ridley was obviously frustrated with Hurts. You laughed and said I was wrong, then later your "source" evidently admitted there was a problem.
That's only a couple of examples.
The moral of this story, in case anybody wants to compile a book of morals about this topic, is that sometimes we can be wrong. The proof, I would add, is in the pudding, or the alcohol content, or a copy of a print...

First off Huddie game time frustration and an actual exchange of words are two different things. Football is a competitive sport and yes they had no issues until the IB and I stand behind that.
If you go back and look at the threads which, I doubt you will. I said I have no idea how they are not going to play hurts he is better than the other two. Come to find out that was the plan all along and the rest is history. So again that doesn’t take away from my statement of why Tua isn’t playing. He is a liability in practice. I do in my opinion gets a chance to play a little and mix it up if the OC refuses to change the gameplan.

That's a lot of spin, Boz, which is ironic in a way because it was your "Call bull shite all you want, you hate being wrong." comment that I even said anything about it.

K Huddie, enjoy the Sugarbowl.

ehheh. You too, Boz. Maybe we'll kick their arse.

And some aren't. Saban has proven to have a pretty good eye and the guys that are ready seem to have consistently started early. Haven't seen a whole lot of "why the frick hasn't he been playing" moments.
The bills I think benched their starting qb and the backup proceeded to come in and throw 5 first half picks. That certainly doesn't mean that is what Tua would do - just an example of the risks with an unknown.
I'm a believer that Tua will be given his fair shot in the spring - in not sure where we feel like it would have been a great idea to start Tua though as it's hard to go with the unknown in what was an undefeated run until the last game.

Yes, I do hate being wrong. That's why my responses are generally well thought out and consistent. I don't just toss various theories out that I want to believe in hopes that one sticks. And, when I'm wrong, I own up and admit it. For example, at the beginning of last year, I said Hurts was a good runner, but wouldn't get 1000 yards. He didn't, but I came back and gave him credit for being that quality runner anyway. I mean, some people might say something like, "Go back and look at my post. I said he wouldn't get 1000 yards. He didn't." Not saying anyone around here would do such a thing. Just pointing out l will admit when I'm wrong rather than make excuses.

Boz, can you put a time frame on this "Tua is a liability in practice" issue?
Was this true before or after the revelation about him playing in the playoff?
Has this poor performance been evident since practice restarted? Do you think his erratic practice performance means all plans to play him have now been scrapped?
What is your source telling you about the staffs interpretation of his struggles? He he now considered a recruiting miss?

This is going to be a long and unbearable offseason.

by keeping a younger player benched in favor of an older player is somewhat of an absurd notion, seeing as how Saban has proven year in and year out that he isn't afraid to play younger guys over older guys
Has a younger guy ever supplanted a returning starter? I’m drawing a blank. This isn’t like a true freshman beating out a junior that’s been a backup his whole career. Said it earlier, it’s hard to yank a guy that had lost one game going into the iron bowl despite his apparent and obvious deficiencies. I know Saban plays the guy he trusts more to “do your job.” That’s the defensive back coach in him coming out and it will win over pure talent with Saban 100/100 times. It why guys like Corey Reamer, Will Lowrey, and Levi Wallace play(ed) over elite recruits.

It is why, when reasonable doubt about two players exists, both should play, at least some.
I have long pointed out that from 1973 on, Bryant always played two, when there was zero doubt about them. I continue to stand by that point. Someone always downvotes it...but no one ever refutes it...although one guy who probably wasn't even alive then said it sometimes bit Bryant in the butt...without offering a specific example from any game.
