This is all on KDB as I have said before. If he didn't choose a cowards way and hired an SEC experienced DC and not his buddy

I dont think he took the coward's route. He thinks he's smarter than he is and that he could do it his way without SEC experience.

When Hubbard isn't doing that and has no effort? Man that is coaching.
Or that’s 100% Hubbard.

I can’t even fathom blaming a coach for my lack of effort. If that’s the case, both the coach and the player can kick rocks.

Today at practice I would ask Jaden Roberts if he wants to help this team by moving to defensive nose tackle today.

His assignment is simple. Destroy the center and OG on every play. If he can lift a Mack truck, then he can do this job. The NFL is looking for those guys with checkbook in hand,

Otherwise sit on the bench.

I remember people saying the same thing about Saban not firing Golding

How many people would kill for Golding to be the DC right now?

Yup. Golding was lacking by Saban era standards but he’d be a glass of cold water in the desert for this regime.

I watched this, and felt like Austin when he just tossed the pad down at the end. I was disgusted with the effort and complete inability to assign gap coverage by the DC.

When guys are consistently in the same gap they’re either taught to do it or confused by the signals. My guess is taught to do it, either way it’s on the DC

Put Proctor over there with him. Maybe someone will trip over him.

I cant believe they are taught to run into the same gaps. They just don't know what to do. It's a combo of poor effort, poor understanding of what to do, and poor execution. So, pretty much bad everything.

I get your angle but I got that whipped and beat out of me in practice (the laziness, etc).

If Hubbard is exhibiting that in our first game? Brother that is all on their coaches who aren't holding them to a high standard.

Maybe you're right. My belief is he was terrified and wanted to circle wagons.

However he probably was arrogant as you suspect and thought he'd walk in a float to undefeated seasons.

The reports of his arrogance and expectation to outsmart everyone make a lot of sense in hindsight. It also explains how confident these other coaches are, and even dismissive of their shortcomings, in the recent press conferences. I.E. Wommack stating they were surprised by none of the FSU offense.

So that first play he broke down was the 3rd play from scrimmage, where we had a holding call on the 3rd down stop and never saw a replay. Anyone really see where the defensive homding was??

Pretty sure that was on cb Domani Jackson, he got caught looking at our sideline (for the play call I assume). The receiver was blowing past him before he realized it…so he just grabbed him as he was going by, trying not to get beat.
