I’ll be the first to admit that I’m shocked this team made it to OKC. They just aren’t that good, but kudos to them for clawing their way in. I don’t see how they come close to winning it with the lack of offense. And I’m also not sure what Murph is going to do next year without an ace pitcher. Gotta get the offense thing figured out this off-season. That said, go shock the world ladies!!

2012 was a loooong time ago. It shouldn’t even be brought up when evaluating his performance. What direction is the program trending?
I’d argue he has underachieved with the talent he’s amassed over the years. 1 championship with how many trips to OKC? For arguments sake Richt won the Sugar Bowl and at least 1-2SEC championships I think.
Look past the sport… Point being both coaches wouldn’t adjust to the game. Both had past success. Both underachieved with the talent they had. UGA didn’t allow the history with Richt to cloud their judgement on Kirby. Byrne shouldn’t either. It’s time to move on.

I will say this...

I think this team is good but the COACHING hasn't developed our players well.
Cahalan (#1 Player'24), Preuitt, Johnson (Fell Off A Cliff), Stephens (Top Rated), Dowling (One of the top/best hitters in her class), Broadfoot, and Kali are all underperforming under Murphy because of coaching. They are extremely talented but you wouldn't know that by watching our games. There's been games where the light flickers and we've won games but it never stays on. It's been happening for years now if I'm being honest.
I use to defend Murphy more than anybody and some on here know this but we will never WIN it all again until he gets a hitting coach... who's a relatable teacher and not just a coach.

Yea not a fan of the skinny/ speedy OFs slapping or with no pop. Hell OU has a little girl batting 9th but she swings the stick. Look at Kiki Malloy from UT. Plays CF but is a big girl . It’s fine I guess for a spot or two but not 5-6 speedsters in the lineup who hit .270 with 1-2 HRs a year. We are in the absolute worst side of the bracket too with UT and OU. We beat FSU earlier and won one against UT but prolly not holding them or OU down for 7 innings . Hoping for the best though

I don't mind having the skinny/speed girls but if your techniques aren't getting it done anymore then the game has passed you and you need to adjust.
The game has passed Murphy offensively and he needs to adjust. All our girls should be able to swing away! We are putting limitations on our slappers by making them one dimensional.

Teams have gotten pretty good at defending slappers with defensive alignment and pitching . I just can’t stand it

Exactly! If we teach them to swing away with some pop...they will be harder to defend. I don't care how uncomfortable they maybe doing it.

100% agree on all . I love watching OU hitters hit the ball to the warning track on outs it seems 1-9. Just saying that if/when he is fired / retires it won’t be as easy as some in here think. It’s easy to say well it’s Bama , we can get whatever recruits we want with our program . But remember Murphy built this program and these girls are not coming to Bama just bc they have a love for the University , they love Murphy . Believe me, I get the frustration bc I am right there with you , but just saying , Murphy’s success of hosting Supers and getting to OKC is nothing to sneeze at
ETA- Definitely want a hitting philosophy change . If we get a few big girls who can stroke it, many on here will say they are fat and out of shape can’t make everyone happy . 14 WCWS apps in 25 seasons is pretty good
I'm not castigating anybody over the difference, but only pointing out the obvious here. You're gonna rarely beat superior players with lesser ones....hell, Saban taught us that.

Murph just can’t give up on small ball! Over the week there were several times he had batters bunting and all around us were like, WTF!
Prange was on 2nd, 1 out, and he bunts her over to 3rd, WHY? Your batter is out, runner on 3rd with 2 outs.
Another time we had runners on 1st and 2nd and he has Shipman bunting. Really!
Those are the hand scratching decisions he makes that are just crazy!

bunting is ok at times but it seems like we bunt right at the pitcher or get under it and bunt it up in the air. Later in the game Sunday night then the bunts went to the right spot and it made a much more difficult play for the D. I cant stand slap hitting as the D's have adjusted to this.
