Nick Saban speaking after today's second scrimmage: "I think we made progress. I think we made improvement. ... We had some good plays and some bad plays."

Saban: "We were a little up and down today. Some of the good plays were really good, and some of the bad plays were not what we wanted."

quote:

Saban on the QBs: "They both made some good plays, but they also made some plays that they probably wish they had back. But they're making progress."

quote:

Saban said TE transfer CJ Dippre dealt with an injury early this spring.

"But I think he's gonna be a good player for us. He's a good competitor."

quote:

Saban: "Justice (Haynes) has had a great spring. ... If you were just a guy sitting on a log, watching, you would never know he's a freshman."

Saban on leadership on offense: "The offensive line has probably done the best job on our team of creating the sort of toughness, intangible character that we'd like our team to play with."

Saban on Kristian Story: "I think that he knows what he's doing. I think he's got to learn to play with a consistent, high level of intensity. ... He's got really good ball skills. He's really instinctive. We just want to see him have the juice that a starter has all the time."

My biggest takeaway right now is you can tell we have new coaching. They are lighting up this team. The energy is different.

I don't want to hear this. I want to hear, "last 10 minutes they lined up inside the 5 yard line and the offensive line mashed the defense back into the end zone 8 out of 10 times."

I hope we see a lot of Miller and Haynes next year. Jase and Roydell have the experience but Miller and Haynes seem special.

I'm surprised this A Day game isn't going to be televised...a couple of pay streaming options is it? This is one of the more interesting springs of the Saban era... anytime there's a true QB battle going on...yet no TV.

Just hope we hold on to both of the QBs once a starter is named.
Having 2 true Freshmen as our only backups is not a good thing to have.

The transfer windows, which will go into effect in time for the 2022-23 season, will allow 60 days per year for athletes to enter the portal and maintain immediate eligibility for first-time transfers. For fall sports like football, the period will be split into two periods. The first, a 45-day period, will start the day after championship selections are made. A second window will be instituted from May 1-15 so players can enter the transfer portal after spring camp.

2nd portal window closes May 15th. QB1 won't be chosen until Sept.

I down voted your post because someone else had, which is about the stupidest thing.

Thought I'd add a little levity by giving it a second.

ETA: Pile on folks. Let's get surge to 50!

ETA: A bird is my levity limit. I had a stroke Apr 5th, and my left arm and leg are paralyzed. It's very hard to type on my phone with one hand.

Eh, sorry to hear about that Surge. Hope you get better soon.

BTW, I wasn't saying your post was stupid, but the fact that someone downvoted it was stupid.

Ok a few things. I’m in bathroom. I like our QBs. Milroe is more confident and comfortable in the pocket and he’s also an extreme athlete. Simpson for his age and time looks pretty solid. I watched some film of Milroe from last year to be fresh. He is better. All around. Our secondary is faster. We always seemed slow last year. The first thing I noticed was how much quicker our secondary is this year, from my eyes view. WR’s are good. Young guys from last year. The usual names plus Benson. OL is changing a lot. But QBs have had time to throw. I’ll have more just throwing out some stuff quickly.

Based on reports it’s starting to feel like a one way race. Is Ty just not picking it up as quickly as expected? I had super high hopes for him. He was an elite highschool player in TN.

That wouldn't be surprising to me at all. I think that McClellan and Williams are really good backs, but I think Miller has the potential to be an all-american. I've been high on him since his first carry. And everything I've heard about Haynes makes me think the same thing about him.

I agree from the limited time I’ve watched them. Haynes might be a great if he produces in games like that.

Haynes was quite the steal from Georgia and I love it.
