Has he elaborated on that? I'm really curious to know exactly what happened. I think it's all just too much of a coincidence. Is it all faked? Doubtful. Did LSU do everything they could to ensure the game was still able to be played on Saturday? Also doubtful.

There's also the possibility that LSU declined to bring this to the SEC's attention until they knew it was too late to move games around and ensure they have to play both us and Florida. If it all happened because of a Halloween party they've probably known about this shite for a week now. If they had said something a week ago it wouldn't have been very difficult to move games around with so many teams going into bye weeks.

Orgeron said on Tuesday that the positive tests were on Tuesday of the prior week. It appears LSU stalled for a week before notifying the SEC.

Honestly at this point who cares. LSU's season is over, ours is not. This is the last bit of attention they were going to get. The rest of their year will be played on ESPNU and SEC Network while they pretend not to care.

It's not worth giving much more thought to.

Really? UA @ LSU is a big TV revenue (shared by all SEC FB programs) game. So, I think the SEC will try to adjust UA's & LSU's scheduled games so it can be played on 11/21 or 12/05. We'll see.

ETA: LSU playing poorly and losing bigly on prime time TV also impacts recruits' perceptions of LSU's program.

I mean I'd love to play the game, but it's out of our control now, and we still have a lot left to play for while LSU has nothing to play for. So, might as well pay attention to what we know we have coming up compared to continuously talking about LSU.

You're free to ignore and not discuss the topic.

That doesn't even make sense Surge.

Telling someone to "ignore the topic" is not disagreeing with them

Again, I'm pretty sure I even said "I hope we play the game" in response to your disagreement. And I've agreed with your "SEC wants the game played" point 2 different times now!!!!!!!!! Because it's a good point and it is correct.

I only responded to your "ignore the topic" post, because you seem to do that quite a bit when you get frustrated with disagreement. That's all.

I'm not frustrated at all.

It seemed like you might be a little frustrated that people wonder & care about and want to discuss how our fb schedule might be altered. I do care about that, but I'm also kinda weary of the hostile chatter about Orgre and LSU. I'm fine with LSU reaping what they sow.

What happens if we shite the bed against Auburn and finish 8-1 while aTm runs the table and finishes 9-1 though? In that scenario aTm would go to Atlanta even though we have the tiebreaker. That's the main reason I still see this as a big deal.

Absolutely agree with that. I do think, to your point and Surge's point, along with the general overall look of things, that the SEC is going to do their damndest to have everybody play 10 games. And in the end, if they can't do that, they are definitely going to do their best to have the teams that are on the national scene and in playoff contention play 10 games.

But at this point with the virus numbers nationwide and no slow down on tap along with what we've seen this past week.......I dunno. It's a daunting next month.

It really would be nice to see the SEC office get creative and bold and go ahead and make scheduling changes immediately and show that we're willing to do whatever we can to figure this out.

That’s why it should be called a forfeit instead of a no contest. LSU and Orgeron had players break protocol and the result is this clusterfrick with the schedule now. There should be consequences for the teams whose seasons went south and they adopt this IDGAF attitude, jeopardizing the seasons of other teams and the overall league strategy. I’m pissed that the SEC is moving hell and half of Georgia now to try and compensate for the selfishness of a few bad apples.

I'd really like to know when LSU notified the conference of the fact that they had positive tests and large contact tracing quarantines. Because at this point it's starting to look like they may have withheld that information until it was too late to move things around for this coming weekend. I suspect that, had we known the scope of the situation a week ago, the SEC could have easily moved things around to ensure that Alabama would have had an opponent this weekend.

At this point it's probably too late unless they are willing to have some games played on the same Saturday as the SECCG. Especially considering that both Florida and Alabama are behind a game right now and are also the presumptive participants.

I fully agree. The SEC should quickly reschedule: UA @ LSU on 11/21, UK @ UA on 12/12 and LSU @ AR on 12/19. Sankey can easily adjust the schedules talking with 4 ADs, CBS and ESPN.
