Moving it to Sunday would make more sense than Friday. Storm will have long passed through by Sunday afternoon.

I don't think they make any decision until Thursday though.

Maybe, but projected path maps with location timing are varying a lot now. One map shows it'll still be in the Gulf on Friday and about as far north as Oxford on Sunday. Path, strength and timing projections should become much more accurate by Thursday. It seems to me they can and should wait until then to decide.

Damn thing is blowing up like they always seem to do in the Gulf these days. It's now a Cat 4. That will pack a punch a long way inland if it doesn't weaken. We should know the situation and I expect they make the call by tomorrow evening or Thursday morning at the latest.

Does Espn get a say? I don't think they would like Sun. Fri night...yeah.

Maybe not Sunday with the NFL, I'm sure they would love a Friday night SEC game though.

No idea, but I would guess they have some input.

Move the game to a neutral site

I'd imagine this makes better sense than to move the game to Tuscaloosa and force Alabama to play at Ole Miss in '21 & '22, but it's not too fair to Ole Miss either to make them travel to another stadium for a home game

Relocating the game or rescheduling it to the shared bye week are unnecessary and only create issues. So, I doubt those options are being seriously considered. But, I do think they might decide to play it on Friday evening in Oxford. That's manageable and enables people traveling to return home before the storm travels inland. OM, UA and ESPN and most ticket holders should be able to adjust to that fairly easily.

Seeing the updated forecast, I'll change my position and say Friday night probably makes more sense than Sunday. Likely still get some rain during the game, but worst of it will be Saturday if the current forecast is close.

They could move the game to the bye week both teams share. But that would make the schedule even harder for both teams.

That was mentioned on tRant, but I think the general consensus is that they need to maintain bye weeks so they can be used in the event of a COVID outbreak.

The Forecast I just saw had the Heavy rain being over with in Oxford by about 2pm Saturday. I would possibly switch our start time with LSU/Missouri start time but that’s about it

Here's a different forecast. The forecasts should become less varied and more accurate by Thurs. I think they'll wait until Wed night or Thursday to finalize the kickoff date & time.

The problem with having the game Saturday night, after the storm is the storm damage. Oxford might be without power.
