No. 2 Alabama advanced to 5-0 (2-0 SEC) with its 59-31 win over Ole Miss on Saturday. And in the Week 5 conference game, a total of 15 true freshmen from Alabama’s No. 1-ranked 2019 recruiting class, according to the 247Sports Composite, saw the field at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
Of the 15 freshmen, four of them started on defense in defensive linemen DJ Dale and Justin Eboigbe and linebackers Shane Lee and Christian Harris. Offensive lineman Evan Neal started at left guard for the fifth game in a row. Defensive lineman Braylen Ingraham made his UA debut.
With the NCAA’s new redshirt rule, players are allowed to maintain a year of eligibility if they play in no more than four games in a season. On Saturday, 10 of the Crimson Tide’s freshmen appeared in their fifth game, which eliminates the possibility of them redshirting this year.
Those players were Neal, Lee, Harris, Dale, Jordan Battle, Byron Young, DeMarcco Hellams, Marcus Banks, Darrian Dalcourt and John Metchie. Three players (King Mwikuta, Keilan Robinson and Will Reichard) have played in four games in 2019. Only seven true freshmen, including Antonio Alfano and Trey Sanders, have not seen the field through the first four games.
Here are all the freshmen that entered the game in Alabama’s Week 5 game against Ole Miss.

Not that I am doubting Bama's playoff berth, but... #1 has never won the CFB. (and as I keep mentioning, JMHO, but think Bama is not #1 just now)...
A big hurdle is on the horizon with aTm up next. A dynamic Running QB who can throw... has a lot to prove, as does Jimbo. Tons of hype preseason and now has lost to CU, Barn U, and barely escaped against one of the worse teams in CFB...Ar Kansas.
aTm - Trouble (and playing in Kyle Field is difficult)
10RC - Could make CJP's season... won't but could.
Ar-Kansas - Hummmmm!!! unknown which team shows up but look for the team that took aTm to the wire and not the one that was manhandled by SJSU or Ole Miss
BYE - WELL NEEDED... healing time and more film study by Freshmen
LSU - Real School session opens - Could the the end of L8U? O is O'ing all over himself with the possibility
MSU - another which team shows up. Traditionally a tough game for Bama after the Physical and Emotionally draining LSU game. Could be a shocker in Starkvegas (Dont tell my MSU cousins know I said this)
WCU - a breather just pray for no injurins and lots of rest for the starters (Citadel anyone?)
Aubarn - 1st time the barn has been in a very good position to win in a while (tho, they have won when not really given a chance) this year's match up may actually favor the Barners
Losing one or more of the above.. could keep Bama out of SECCG... let's revisis the Uga match up in late Nov.
Thoughts?

Antonio Alfano (head)
Lol, definite head injury

No concern yet. We still gaining valuable reps that will be beneficial come November.

Is the damn sky falling? I will take Bama on any field against any team as long as Bama has a healthy Tua.
This years Iron Bowl favors Auburn??? Auburn is good against the run, weak against the pass on defense. They don't get good pressure with just a four man rush. Auburn's offense scares no one. Bama put 52 on a even better Auburn defense last year, Bama will put 40 plus on Auburn this year. Auburn's offense isn't equipped to win a shootout.
Damn Bama fans afraid of Auburn, smh.

Three FBS quarterbacks threw for 400 yards yesterday. All three were part of the Alabama QB room last year.
— Layne Hatcher: 440 yards and four TDs in his first start for Arkansas State
— Tua Tagovailoa: 418 yards and six passing TDs
— Jalen Hurts: 415 yards, three passing TDs
- Matt Zenitz
Who could have believed this a couple of years ago.

Tua should be #1 overall in Heisman now

Media does not want Tua unfortunately it seems like

Sadly, you are correct. Jalen is the made for TV movie... comes to the powerhouse team beats all competition to take the team. Wins everything (except for NC)... gets replaced in the NC game, loses his starting spot to the upstart... stays with the team... pulls their fat out of the fire in the SECCG throwing and running for the game winner... fails short in the NCG...
Transfers to OU... becomes 3 OU QB in a row to win the Heisman... (If OU could be paired with Bama in the play offs.... every writer would cream....
BUT, unless there is a significant fail by OU/Jalen... Jalen wins the HT even with lesser stats. It's the Story... the story

I've been saying that since last year. The media dosen't want to give Tua any credit at all. Their new narrative is that the receivers make him look good.

Might be in the dog house or maybe he is not practicing hard. Makes no sense him not being out there. He is clearly one of our best DL.

Got the Targeting penalty against USCe, came back against So. Miss (played really well)... but? Seemed Mathis was spelling Dale and had the reps yesterday... will have to review the tape again this evening. Participation Chart shows he played but, I dont remember hearing his name or noticing him?

Hope he doesn't end up being another culture victim from the NorthEast. That would be three in a row. I know I am making a mountain out of what maybe a non issue.
