Final Four. I can feel it.

Hell, I’ll settle for a ticket to The Dance and a W in the round of 64

I do think it will be different this time. All those other years we were hoping the offense would improve and score consistently based on the new talent. This time We KNOW Oats is gonna score the ball

This is as talented as we’ve been since peak Gottfried days don’t y’all think? The Wimp era was before my time (I’m 29 so barely missed it) but gotta think we’re as deep as some of those teams? I’ve always wanted to go to Indianapolis...

So I guess the Clemson game is still on

I went to the final four in Indianapolis in 1997. It's a nice city but there's just not a great deal to do there. The Ariz-Ken OT final was amazing though.
Also went in '98 to San Antonio. Now that's a city with things to do, better bars, places to eat, etc.

I’d love if we just played Maui and then they made the Hoopsgiving stuff a bubble round robin and that be our non conference slate.

shite. Show.

Don’t be surprised if some of these events that were set to start prior to Nov. 25 end up either scrapping for this year or having to swap out teams. A 14-day quarantine obviously a major hurdle for plenty of teams right now after returning to campus.

I would stack this team up next to Wimp's 1985-86 team with Buck Johnson, Derrick McKey, Terry Coner, Jim Farmer, Mark Gottfried, and Michael Ansley. James Jackson was the 7th man. They went 24-9, made it to the Sweet Sixteen, and after losing to Kentucky by 2 at home, then by 11 in the SEC championship game, they ran into #3 Kentucky a 3rd time and lost by 5.
You could also use the next season when freshman Keith Askins was the lone newcomer to the core group above, replacing a graduated Buck Johnson. This was the team that went 28-5, won the SEC tourney over LSU, and was a dark horse candidate to finally make the Final Four. They destroyed NC A&T, and New Orleans before running into a red hot Providence team led by Billy Donovan and a coach named Rick Pitino in the Sweet Sixteen. Providence couldn't miss that day and ended my dream of seeing Alabama finally making a Final Four.

The 2020 Maui Invitational is moving to Asheville, North Carolina, sources told CBS Sports. The perennial most prestigious in-season tournament is now scheduled to be played from Nov. 30-Dec. 2. Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports Network was the first to report the news.
This season's Maui Invitational field includes Alabama, Davidson, Indiana, North Carolina, Providence, Stanford, Texas and UNLV. An announcement is expected soon, but the tournament is waiting to hear confirmation that Stanford can play in the event; the Pac-12 has prohibited all winter sports from competing before Jan. 1, but that decision is expected to soon be reversed by the league's presidents and chancellors.
A source also said that the exit fee for the Maui event is $200,000. There is at least one school that's considered trying to get out of it, but given the economical pressures that have been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, it's not practical. All eight schools are expected to play and the event would be broadcast on ESPN and ESPN2 as usual.
