Nah, it isn’t a 100 things. Harper posted months ago what was going on with Davis.

I like Davis’s potential, but what gets in his way is his attitude. If he can get over his attitude problem then he has a bright future here. The starter at the 5 is wide open if Bruner isn’t added. If I had to wildly guess with everyone who is on the roster, I would give Rojas the nod just because he’s more athletic and better defensively than Reese, Davis, and Galin.

This is one that I found. I believe there was another one too.

Here is another that Harper posted back in April.

Javian is just selfish tbh. Only cares about himself and he’s happy when he plays a lot and mad when he doesn’t.

I think at least some of them being cancelled is a possibility. Not gonna surprise me if they cancel them all and start in January.

I would move the NonConference back and start in January like you would in November. Maybe play the OOC games quicker than normal because you wouldn’t have to schedule around Thanksgiving and Christmas. You could start conference play by mid February and be done with the NCAA tournament by Mid May.

I think Basketball will happen. It’s a lot easier to control 15-20 players/coaches on a team than 100 players/coaches for Football.

I agree with the move considering what we have coming in and how Javian isn’t the best fit for us, but it would not surprise me if Javian tears it up elsewhere. If I’m him, I’d go to a team known for getting the ball down low. That kid has a great post game and has incredible footwork on both ends.

I know people are going to be quick to call him out because of what’s been reported, but let’s be real... he was a RS freshman who sat his entire first year and worked his arse off only to play behind a post player the next year whose ability to be very underwhelming in every aspect of basketball was legendary. It’s a frustrating situation and he’s still just a kid.

I agree with you. I think he’s going to be a solid player if he chooses a slower tempo team.

Yeah I can't even imagine how frustrating it would be to have to sit behind a player like Galin all year. I think Javian would have played more if he could have defended without fouling though. That's what always hurt his minutes. Kid would play 6 minutes and pick up 2 fouls.

This is going to give us at least 4 scholarships for next year though unless Rojas only had 2 to play 2, in which case we will have at least 5. Bruner, Petty, Herb, and Reese will all be in their final year of eligibility. If the staff can follow up this year's recruiting effort with another top ~15 class they will have done what the last two staffs couldn't and lay a solid foundation of talent to continue building on.

I’m really struggling today, guys. COVID has chipped away at everything to the point I’m just sad, angry, frustrated, all at once. We are kidding ourselves. Basketball ain’t happening in 2020. Neither is football or any fall sports for that matter. At best, we get a delayed and/or abbreviated season in 2021. Or we throw in the towel and try again next fall. The curse of Bama basketball has outdone itself this time: best looking team on paper in twenty years so gotta shut down the mother fricking world and send shock waves through the fabric of society in response. I give up, I’m done. ‘Rona wins. See y’all next year. Stay safe. Roll Tide and Peace. Out.

Meanwhile: Donta Hall signs with Nets for the season. Huge break for him.

Excellent Hall highlights from the G-League.

I was about to say that this would be the most Alabama basketball thing ever, but think about the positives.

At least we didn't make some miracle run in the past SEC Tournament, squeak into the NCAA with a renewed excitement, win a first round game, and then they shut us down.

More likely, we also didn't get a chance to get embarrassed again in the SEC Tournament.

Recall that Nate Oats has not lost a postseason game while at Alabama.

So... maybe things are looking up?

P.S. Don't think about the international players leaving if they do cancel the season, or even in-person classes. That would probably not help with the struggling.

If I had a choice between hoops playing and football, I'd take hoops assuming we get the entire season and tourney.

Football almost has too many variables to work with 10x the people involved.

Is there video of the Ala/Ken SEC final in Rupp long ago?
