This is absolutely pathetic. No excuse. Avery needs to get his schitt together ASAP.

Shaka Smart would make an elite 8 run with the talent we have on our roster. Avery is the problem. I hope we cut our losses early

I don't think we make the NIT. We'll lose to Oklahoma and probably only win 6/7 in conference. 15-16 won't get us in the NIT.

Nah Shaka Smart is a garbage coach too.

Avery is lost. I hate it too

Sexton should sit out the restof the season
Posted on 12/22/17 at 9:55 pm to Cobrasize
If I'm Sexton, I sit out the rest of the season. We are killing his draft. frick IT ALL

What pisses me off is how they’ve built up these home games in Birmingham and Huntsville to gin up fan support, make it feel special, and we squeak by Mercer and shite all over ourselves against a decent team in Texas that arguably we are more talented than, except for La La La La La Bamba.

I mean, we have a lottery pick at PG and our offense is still an absolute schit show. Lazy as hell.

We have a better team and are at "home", but we are getting beaten worse than last year. frick It

They look much more talented than us on the whole....

The tone was set early when Texas was allowed to get away with everything. To the Avery haters Frick off, to the people saying nit Frick off. This is first time all year our guys have looked discouraged but it's a long yr yet . Don't give me this shite about Avery , our guys just have to be more under control and to gell

Look, I'm not saying what Avery did in his first two years wasn't promising. I loved the four top-25 wins in his first year and being on the bubble. I loved watching the team go into Florida and end that streak, or going into Baton Rouge and beating Ben Simmons. And yes, even sweeping a final four team in South Carolina and the SEC Tournament run last year was fun. But this was supposed to be a huge year for Avery and Alabama basketball, and they look eerily similar the the previous years with the same problems.
Should we a fans just omit that and point to his success, or can we actually discuss some of the recurring glaring issues? I understand we have eternal optimist, but let's seriously look into this. This is a team with experience and talent that should look like a team primed for a sweet 16. Instead, they're struggling against lesser opponents, and not beating the better ones. We're mediocre plan and simple. I'm glad we beat teams that will likely be in the tournament, but at this point, we should expect to beat those teams by now. It's pretty eye opening that we couldn't at least beat 1 team out of Minnesota, Arizona, and Texas.
I want Avery to succeed badly here, but you're lying to yourself if you think things are trending in the right direction for this season. We're looking at a pretty rough start for SEC play and a blow out loss at home to Oklahoma.

I’m not giving up on Avery yet.

Earlier UNI was tied w/ #9 Xavier.
They don't even have a lottery pick. A well coached team can do much better than what we did tonight.
