Woods strikes out the side. Pen has been stellar this series.

Great job to get the sweep. The only negative this weekend IMO was that Hitt and Hess struggled in their starts.

Baseball Completes Series Sweep of High Point with 4-2 Win on Sunday
The Tide bullpen was lights out following a solid start from McNairy
Alabama baseball completed the series sweep of High Point with a 4-2 win on Sunday afternoon at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. The Crimson Tide is now 8-0 on the season.
The low-scoring affair saw the Tide get on the board first with a run in the third. Alabama added two more in the fourth with High Point countering for two of their own in the top of the fifth. The Tide then returned the lead to two with a single tally in the home half of the fifth for the eventual 4-2 final.
Jacob McNairy (1-0) picked up the win on Sunday, tossing 5.0 innings and allowing two runs on five hits with three strikeouts. The bullpen took over following McNairy's exit, with Hagan Banks, Kade Woods and Riley Quick blanking the Panthers the rest of the way. Woods struck out five of the six batters he faced with Quick earning the save thanks to a scoreless ninth.
Alabama's offense was highlighted by Colby Shelton who recorded a solo home run, one RBI, a run scored and one walk from the leadoff spot. Bryce Eblin contributed one RBI on a sacrifice fly with Ed Johnson also notching an RBI on his single in the fifth.
From Head Coach Brad Bohannon
"Jacob (McNairy) gave us a great start and the story of the game was the bullpen. Hagan Banks, Kade (Woods) and Riley (Quick) were just outstanding out of the pen, and that experience is going to be really important when we get into a lot more tight games as the season wears on. I'm excited to be 8-0 and really proud of the kids with how they competed against a good club in High Point."

Some interesting trivia regarding tomorrow’s @AlabamaBSB and @JaxStateBB game. Alabama’s starting pitcher is Luke Holman. His father, Craig, is the JSU Gamecocks all-time wins leader (32) and played on 2 national championship (1990 and 1991) teams.

Also, JSU assistant coaches Evan Bush and Kyle Cameron (volunteer assistant) are Tide graduates. Loved Evan, helped us win the regular season SECC his senior year :) RTR

And Bama transfer TJ Reeves is on the JSU team

16-1 Bama after a Hayslip piss missile grandslam… through 4 INNINGS
Not the greatest competition sample size wise, but with our approaches at the plate this year and with the pitching, especially the bullpen, this team is playing like it can host a regional thus far.
Now SEC play is absolutely a different beast, but gotta like what you’re seeing thus far

Can’t go undefeated unless you win your first nine.

16-3 in the 8th.
No 10-run rule for this game?
ETA: Guess not.
We won 17-3.

My kind of game! So happy for Hayslip too. Lots of guys got playing time today. Love to see the Tide making the most of this schedule.
Overpowering Offense Leads Baseball to 17-3 Win over Jacksonville State on Tuesday
The Tide set season-highs for hits and runs in the midweek contest
A dominant day at the plate powered Alabama baseball to a 17-3 win over Jacksonville State on Tuesday at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. The Crimson Tide is now 9-0 overall.
Alabama set season-highs for hits, walks and runs in the midweek matchup. The Tide posted seven runs in the second to put the game out of reach early. UA added three in the third, six in the fourth and one in the eighth for 17 total runs. Jacksonville State got on the board with one in the fourth and two in the eighth but would get no closer for the 17-3 final.
Camden Hayslip and Bryce Eblin tied for the team-high RBI total with four apiece. Eblin, who got the start at second before moving to short, finished 3-for-5 with a double and three runs scored to go with the RBI. Hayslip entered midway through the game and notched his four RBI on a grand slam, Alabama's first of the season. The sophomore wrapped up his afternoon 2-for-3 with one run scored. Caden Rose matched Eblin with a team-high three runs scored, part of his 0-for-0 day that included three walks in as many plate appearances.
Luke Holman (2-0) earned the win, his second in as many starts. The right-hander tossed 4.0 innings, allowing one run on two hits and two walks with a career-high seven strikeouts.
From Head Coach Brad Bohannon
"I'm really proud of the team today. We took a step forward. We were sharp on the mound for four innings, and then, obviously, we had a lot of production up and down the lineup. Any time you score 17 runs you have to be pleased. It was good to see a lot of hard contact and get a lot of guys in the game."
