We need to do nothing but run bases Monday.
Fricking sick of the mistakes on the base paths every fricking game.

No quit in this team, that pitcher getting hurt probably keeps us from competing for the title this year, should have won 2 of 3 from UGA. Just not enough SEC quality pitchers.
As long as a team has fight, I'm on board, thats all we can ask for with the recruiting disadvantage we had for years.

Love how this team can win at any time in the game. Going into the 9th, down 5, I felt like Alabama had a chance. I cannot remember ever feeing that way. Down towards the end of the game typically was a guaranteed lose in years past. Roll Tide!

Is it enough SEC quality arms, or enough arms WITH SEC experience? I think that is the big thing right now. The lack of SEC experience with the team and staff is a piece we knew we would be dealing with. I hope they start giving Kenty a bigger role during the weekend out of the bullpen. He’s had success against Georgia and SC. I’m not sure why Matthew was brought in today. How many pitches did he throw on Thursday?
Our bats are taking a few innings to put it together (in general not necessarily today’s game) and I think we’ve made the opponents sp look better than they are at times. Our hitters seems to excel with pressure later in the game which is a blast to watch.
What will next week’s starting rotation look like if you had to guess? Kentucky is good.

Don’t know if you watched any of the LSU-Arky series but those teams have relievers that would prolly be starters in SEC play for us … we have a couple young guys I guess but not much depth

LSU had 11 BB during Thursday’s game and 23 BB for the series, so there’s that. LSU is having bullpen issues too, so I can’t agree with you when it comes to them at this point. Ark has the number one pitching staff in the country if you read or talk to anyone, so no we aren’t on their level. I do understand your point, but I also think our young pitchers are going to be special for Alabama assuming they stay.

I do like the potential of some of the young arms (Adams, Fay, Heiberger) but I don’t know if they are ready for big roles in SEC play yet. With the portal , it won’t take long to build a staff ( provided we don’t lose many of our own) but I am still skeptical of our #2 and #3 weekend starters . It is early and hope the team keeps improving . With our hitting , we can be successful if we just get decent pitching . There are a couple of young pitchers I have not seen admittedly . Love the job Coach Vaughn is doing. Byrne is the best in the business right now

I guess time will tell. I think everyone knows Adams wasn’t supposed to start in the SEC this early, so that’s expected. The most I’ve heard disputed with Greg is if he should be the Friday night guy? What are you skeptical about with him?
Constantly thinking the portal will solve everything is what gets teams in trouble. I believe treating the talent you have, especially those who are getting SEC type of experience as freshmen, with care is just as important. Because those are the kids every other team in the country would pay to have and you don’t want them leaving. It’s a balance that I’m not sure will ever be perfected. I think changing the recruiting process at the high school level if you want extra room for the portal kids who were undersized out of high school, ended up at a mid major or JUCO, and dominated after maturing isn’t terrible depending on the recruits you have in high school. You’re still lacking SEC experience. Getting someone out of the SEC (minus a HC change) is going to want $$$ or they didn’t get the PT they think they deserved and the payoff is a gamble.
