Hey, SOG, is Bama's pen going to be as problematic as it looks so far? Bama's starters looked great this past weekend but I'm not sure what to make of the pen.

The guys out there tonight are all making their debuts.
I highly doubt they will see the field in a SEC series.

Shouldn't be - Bo is doing his best Maineri tonight. I'd be shocked to see Rowe, Eddington or Giles throw any innings in SEC play this year.
Ras, Shamblin, Guffey, Lee, Green, Hitt are going to be the main pen guys with Freeman and McNairy as swing guys.

This is when you do that, yeah. Midweek you're just looking to test some guys out, get some experience in and find the next man up.
But the weekend series was a bit worrisome from a pitching depth standpoint. Know Bama starters were awesome but the pen seemed to make it closer than it should have been.

Ras was really bad in both his outings. They need him to be better than that this year. He has tools but he struggled as a freshman when forced into starting. He was great last year in that early season "2nd starter" coming in the 5th kind of role.
Lee is a sidewinder guy so sometimes it takes him a little bit to find his release point.

JMO but the two times I saw RAS last year, his FB didn’t have much movement

Makes sense - he was throwing 96 the other day and they were squaring it up pretty good. Couldn't tell much from the ole moon camera they had doing the game but figured he must be throwing a tight rope.

Yea I was at concession and gun said 97 on him so I ran back to my seats and he was getting hit fairly hard
