This program won't take the next step until they figure out how to win close games against really good teams. They basically went 0 for the season in those scenarios.

If you can't do that in the SEC, you are fvcked. And at those point, we can't.

The last 2 days are the types of games and situations where programs that don't feel the confidence to figure out how to win all of a sudden look up and go "WTF, we can do this shite".

We should be in over LSU

Not saying they shouldn’t be in. But if it comes down to us two, it should be us after today’s win.

If we win 1 more then I'd imagine we'll have a nearly identical resume to LSU

Currently

LSU
- 34-22 (13-18)
- #24 RPI
- #3 SOS
- 9-15 vs Q1
- 25-7 vs Q2-4
- 10-8 away/neutral

Alabama
- 31-22 (14-17)
- #31 RPI
- #4 SOS
- 8-15 vs Q1
- 23-7 vs Q2-4
- 12-9 away/neutral

Georgia
- 31-23 (14-17)
- #40 RPI
- #14 SOS
- 8-13 vs Q1
- 23-10 vs Q2-4
- 11-10 away/neutral

1st and 3rd 0 outs

- pop up to 1st, 1 out
- chopper up the middle, shortstop fields steps on 2nd and throws to first. Late. Tennessee wins.
- HOWEVER, the runner sliding into 2B threw his right out ever so slightly and basically drug it across Jarvis mid-section and hit him in the nuts. Umpires call interference, review it, confirm it. Both runners out. Inning over.
- Bama scores 1 in the 11th, Lee throws 80 pitches, Bama wins

2nd base umpires explanation to UT manager Vitello was "He hit him in the nuts Tony"

I mean, look, it's one those calls that probably doesn't get called in the 3rd inning of a Saturday afternoon game in April. However - the rule is pretty clear. You have to stay within your body. You can't throw your arms up like you are on a roller coaster and you can't throw your arms out and impede the infielder in any way.

He clearly drug his hand and arm across our guys mid-section. You can argue that it is a soft rule if you want, but it's absolutely the rule. Anyone who has played middle infield knows it.

I was playing in a summer league tournament at UVA one year in high school and had a kid come in with both his arms straight up to the sky like he was riding Splash Mountain. I turned and threw to 1st and hit him right in the middle of the left wrist on the inside. It sounded like a damn gun went off. His buddy running to 1B was also called out.
