Last home midweek of the season

Alabama baseball will close out its home non-conference schedule for the 2024 regular season on Tuesday when the 18th-ranked Crimson Tide welcomes Samford to Sewell-Thomas Stadium. The midweek matchup is slated for a 6 p.m. CT first pitch on SEC Network+.

Tuesday's game will be the final '$2 Tuesday' at The Joe for the 2024 season. The deal is one of Alabama's season-long promotions, featuring $2 reserved tickets for all fans in attendance. The midweek with UAB will also serve as 'Bark at the Park' night. Fans are encouraged to bring their dogs to Sewell-Thomas Stadium with the first 250 fans receiving an Alabama chew toy at Gate 5, the designated entrance for all fans with their pups.

Same, but I have a feeling a lot of money will be involved. His offense is stupidly consistent.

Not gonna lie, when we went down 4-0 early I was thinking here we go again. So happy to get this midweek win. A decent crowd (great turnout in right field). Great to score a bunch of runs. Good relief efforts from Morris, Probst, Moza & Myers too. A couple other guys struggled but had a short leash tonight. Should be good to go this weekend if needed. Scary moment went Lebron went down for what seemed like an eternity. Looked like an ankle but he stayed in the game. Need him to stay healthy at short stop. A good night with good momentum heading to Oxford.

An 11-run third inning powered Alabama baseball to a 14-5 win over Samford on Tuesday evening at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. With the midweek victory, the 18th-ranked Crimson Tide claimed the season series with the Bulldogs and improved to 26-15 overall.

Samford struck first with a four-run second but maintained the lead for only an inning. In the third, Alabama's offense erupted for eight hits on the way to 11 runs to make it an 11-4 ballgame. The third inning was highlighted by two-run home runs from Justin Lebron, TJ McCants and Evan Sleight. The Bulldogs added one in the fifth with the Tide countering for three in the home half to set things at 14-5, where the score would stay the rest of the way.

Alabama's offense was led by Lebron, who finished 3-for-5 with a double and the homer to go with his team-high four RBI and three runs scored. Austin Morris (2-0) picked up the win, allowing one run on five hits with two strikeouts in 3.0 innings of relief. The loss went to Alex Gaeto (0-1).

From Head Coach Rob Vaughn
"We got down 4-0 and our guys didn't flinch. They kept running good at-bats off, they had a plan for what was coming and we ended up doing a really good job at the plate tonight. I was proud of the guys, proud of their effort. It's good to keep this thing rolling as we head to Oxford tomorrow."
