But wouldn’t they have to punish them? They would lose their spot in the top 4. And then where do they go? So you think 11?

Yes, or 12th of AZ St wins their CG.

It would basically take their formula they just have and kill it by moving SMU only 3 spots with a loss. My gut tells me this is an elimination game.

Umm, Clemson beats SMU, we might be out.

Which is comical seeing as how we beat two teams that beat them and have more top 25 wins than they do...

I’d rather there just be a 64 team league with 8 divisions. 8 division winners, 8 best remaining records as wildcards. Standard 7-game division, 1 locked interdivision rival, 4 games against random teams from 4 other divisions. Let’s just get committees with CEOs and politicians out of this shite.

Could be fun with relegation and promotion too. 64 (or whatever number is) play in the Top League and the rest of FBS plays in the Second League. Bottom 8 or so teams from Top League (could even do 8 last place division teams in your scenario) relegated each year and replaced with top 8 teams from Second League.

Don’t think the power brokers would ever agree to it because the money lost by a school from being relegated would likely be enormous.

SMU's best win is the same as Miami's, Duke. They lose and they are out.
They beat Clemson they are in obviously, but it would be SMU's second win vs a team with 9 wins. They beat Duke 28-27.

BAMA has victories against 2 teams with 9 wins and 1 with 10 wins (and is probably going to be the SEC Champ.)

It seems to be more about wins than losses. Ole Miss being ahead of USC is proof. Why Ole Miss is ranked behind Miami is a case of "Who gives a shite, these teams aren't going to the playoff anyway."

Hopefully we get to see Ole Miss vs Miami in a bowl game and Ole Miss destroys them. Same for SMU. Put them in a game vs USC and hopefully USC annihilates them.

In the future we'll see play-in games for the last spots probably.

Would anyone here watch BAMA/SMU and Miami/SMU host usc/SMU and Ole Miss/SMU? (Depending on where SMU falls should they lose). I would.

Just like Boise vs UNLV and AzSt vs IowaSt.

I think these games will be the most entertaining games on Saturday to watch.
