The NFL is so cut throat, after being a pro bowler, you lose your OC and QB coach, you get zero supporting cast around you and then get injured to lose your job to a 6th round rookie. Not that he didn’t force the issue throwing so many picks, but dang man. Rough.

Hopefully he gets traded to a team with a better supporting cast.

Mac trying to force it... running game not doing shite to help him out either

If you watched the first couple of series for NE, Mac was basically a one read and scramble QB. Either he has no confidence in the OL or he's gunshy now.

It’s weird..

It’s like they’re running 2 different offenses.

I hate it for Mac. But he’s tough. Maybe he’ll get another chance somewhere

He definitely looks different like his confidence is gone.

Mac might not play again this season. Hate it big time for him.

Is it my imagination or does the team seem to play harder with Zappe?

Looks like two totally different teams. It’s crazy

Seems that way to me too. Maybe it’s a confidence thing. I mean Parker bailed Zappe out on that long throw. That exact situation and mac gets picked it seems.

They are and now they decide to block and catch passes. Plus they completely changed everything with their offense in the off season after he had a good year. All they needed to do was add a few skill players.

I wouldn't blame Mac if he demanded a trade.

2 of those passes the receivers had to make great catches

Playcalling suddenly gets better, suddenly WRs win contested passes, defense creating short fields.

Man, it's gotta be gut wrenching for Mac. I was really hoping he'd come out and quiet the doubters... opposite happened.

Maybe teammates sense a lack of confidence from Mac. Really thought this would be a big year for Mac. I think Belchick’s philosophy is every player is expendable.

Well he can’t get lucky forever. Either he is really good (seems unlikely) or soon enough mac gets another shot at it.

I bet Mac's agent is busy right now.

Doesn't matter if its Mac or Zappe. Patriots aren't winning anything with the skill players they have.

Bellichick is a defensive coach who still thinks you can win with an elite defense and a mediocre offense. Say what you want about Saban but at least he realized you can't win in modern football without an elite offense.

If it weren't Bill, what he's done with the offense in the off season and so far this season, would get the coach fired.

It's been baffling.
