Alabama needs a COMPLETE mental, physical, and coaching makeover. The PROCESS is dead.

The last two years, our teams underperform and have been ill prepared. We're still making the same mistakes in the 9th game that we made in the second game. That's coaching. If the fricking players won't execute, then use different players.
There is no "PROCESS" anymore. No one is scared to play us. We don't strive to physically and mentally dominate anyone anymore. Alabama used to relish hostile environments and the opportunity to shut loud fanbases down. Not anymore.
The Golding/BOB experiment is an abysmal failure on EVERY level. O'brien couldn't scheme a receiver open in space if it saved his life. He can't design plays to give hit 5'8 QB throwing lanes if his very existence depended on it. He refuses to give the most talented RB in the country the ball in situations to use his talents.
Our OL is and has been straight trash for years. Is Joe Pendry still alive? IDGAF if he doesn't like to recruit. The OL coaches that can recruit can't coach worth a shite.
WTF happened to the JUMBO package in short yardage situations? My fat arse could gain 3 yds running behind Oatis or Bryant Young. ZERO CREATIVITY ON OFFENSE.
And the defense? All that talent and they're consistently out of position, that's scheming and coaching. PERIOD.
And whoever is in charge of strength and conditioning needs to be ran out of town on a rail. I'm sick and tired of watching Bama LB's and DB's get dragged down field 5 yds at a time because they're weak as water.
The team plays with no emotion, no sense of urgency, they don't enjoy themselves, they have no discipline. AT ALL.

Great post, if Saban is the problem and he is the one hiring people, I'm not sure the fix will be that easy. His hiring skills seem to be a weak area.

Coach Saban is only the problem if he fails to recognize and admit what everyone else is seeing and refuses to address it.
Every fan base is saying the same thing all of us are. These last few Bama teams are just are the same as the "Built by Bama" standard.

Being an assistant coach for Saban is quite honestly a living hell. I’ve known dozens of them and privately they all tell the same horror stories.
You win, you eventually get a HC job etc.. but you have zero life other than work. 14-15 hr days are the norm

If Saban was 60 years old, then I’d have total faith in a complete staff reset…but we’re talking about a different, 71 year old version of Nick Saban.
He’s whiffed on staff hires before and it’s not impossible that he wouldn’t do it again. Our talent advantages in the past have negated subpar coaching. We can’t just assume that we’ll even land our top coordinator targets because of so many factors internally and externally. We’re also looking at major roster turnover for next season to go along with that.
I say all of that to say this: Nick Saban will have to make a decision after the Auburn game about whether or not he wants to retire because if he truly wants to keep doing this, it will take all he’s got to right the ship.

Does Saban even talk about “the process” anymore? All I hear him talk about is “finding consistency” and “creating value”.

Ok.. here’s one and there are many.
Kirby told me that in the summer, Saban has his assistant coaches formulate game plans.. for teams not on the schedule.
He said Saban had him game plan for Army. I’m not talking just a gameplan from the D side.. we talking complete gameplan. Offense, Defense and Kicking game. Tendencies, personal .. etc etc etc.
Then at the end of the week, you present it to him.. in detail. Kirby said you spend hours on it, plus all the other things you’re doing to prep for the upcoming season. Hours you could be spending with your family etc.
He told me stuff like that was constant, never an idle moment. That you spent 12-15 hours a day , everyday… and that a lot of the task he demands of assistant coaches is in his words “useless”.
Charlie Strong told me it’s like being in a 15 hr a day car wash. That he beats you to death but you do it because you know you’ll come out clean on the other side.
Saban is totally devoted to football, it’s all he cares about.. it consumes him. It’s why he’s the goat.
But not many people are programmed that way..
Will Muschamp told me that he loved Saban, but hated working for him.
I’ve got a really close friend that is currently coaching in Minnesota. He had a chance to come to Bama.. he talked to lots of former assistant and told me that everyone of them said, “you’ll be a better coach, but you won’t know your kids anymore “.

And it’s one thing to do that during Prime Saban when we’re at the top…it’s another to go through that kind of work environment when the program is on the decline.
There’s no guarantee that Saban can just go and get who he wants as coordinator.

saw that right out of gate in Texas game and people kept justifying it being first game, NIL, modern defense faster and what not.
strength conditioning sucks period!

Bingo. I really believe he and Terry are already speaking about whether he/she want to continue the rat race. The player recruiting pool is only going to get worse. The old we can get you to the NFL line isn't going to work with these hands out recruits.
Nick settled for two of Muschamp's recommendations this past cycle in the DB and OLBer coaches. Nick is so old now that those coaches he trusted are damn near his age or retired.
It's going to get interesting.

Bama has a chance to get back to the offensive identity they had in the past. Smash mouth run the football and be able to get 2-3 yards under center even when the other team knows you are running it. Commit to running the ball and stopping the run that is what builds hard nosed football teams not the air raid.
Next year the potential is there starting a new 5 star QB while bringing in two 5 star RBs plus Jamarion Miller. Slide Latham to LT, Booker at LG and Seth at C ... RG and RT are concerning spots hopefully Pritchett/Brockermeyer can step up and claim those spots.. if not Bama can hit the portal
Aaron Anderson, Isiah Bond, Kobe Prentice, Emmanuel Henderson, Shazz Preston and Kendrick Law all have an opportunity to step up and grab a spots at WR. Latu will be gone so TE will be improved.
